Massive FLorida FReep Needed To Protect Dead Soldier's Family From Freaks During His Funeral
multiple, Bos Herald, WCVB, St. Pete Times, | MB-26

Posted on 06/29/2005 4:07:34 PM PDT by MindBender26

This is a vanity post, but trust me, a well sourced one. (I'm an old network newsie and have about 8 more good sources on this than Rather had for his typeface fiasco.)

Here are the details:

A SF SGT E-5, James Stewart, will be buried in St. Petersburg, Florida on July 4, 2005. It's wholly appropriate that he be buried on our nation's birthday, because Sergeant Stewart gave his life for our country.... and all of us.

He was killed in Iraq by a roadside bomb, call an IED in MilSpeak. IED is short for "Improvised Explosive Device." It can be an old artillery shell wired to an electric blasting cap or just some explosives and a few pounds of rusty nails for shrapnel. They are nasty, and they are killing our men and women in Iraq.

His family has had time to get ready for the trauma of his funeral, but there is no way they can be ready for the latest insult to both his memory and all that is civilized.

A Topeka, Kansas freak has announced plans to disrupt the burial with chants, bull horns and signs that read, "Thank God for IEDs" "God Hates America," "This Soldier Is In Hell," and "God Wanted This Soldier Dead."

This is not a sick joke. The following is exurpted from a story on WCVB in Boston:

"A Marblehead soldier who was killed in Afghanistan is scheduled to be laid to rest, but a group from Kansas is expected to try to disrupt the services and police are on alert for any problems. Staff Sgt. Christoper Piper, 43, served in both Afghanistan and Iraq and was awarded a bronze star for his combat service."

"(The protesters) claim U.S. soldiers like Piper are dying because the country is being punished for its tolerance of what they see as immoral behavior, such as homosexuality. The group protested several weeks ago in Dracut and Lexington, Mass., carrying signs depicting homosexual sex, handing our leaflets with the message "Thank God for IEDs"

One little girl wrote them (the "protesters") regarding the pain they caused another dead soldier's family.

The protesters wrote back "We serve God; not your vulgar dumb ass. So we don’t care less what you think. We have one goal: publish. We’ve accomplished that goal with you. Have a nice day" (end of letter)

I would name names of these bastards and link to pictures of their vile signs, but JimRob doesn;t want it on FR. I agree with his position. Trust me, they are beyond belief.

These creeps are "protesting" at Sgt. Stewart's funeral at the Park Street Baptist Church, 3901 Park Street North (Park and 39th Ave North, about a mile south of Tyrone Mall) at 11:00 AM on Monday the 4th.

Since they want publicity, they will be there early for the cameras.

There will only be a few of them (they usually fly in from Kansas, but be on the lookout for vehicles with Kansas license plates.)

At some of their prior sick protests, vets and others were able to "convince" the sickos to vacate the area before the family arrived. This is not a call for violence, but I'm sure many of us can be very convincing when we see signs like these.

If any of us really give a damn about the men and women currently serving in harm's way, then this is the least we can do to support them and their families.

Sgt. Stewart volunteered to pay the ultimate price for our freedom. What are we willing to do for him?

This particular "Pansy Easterner" will teach you an excellent definition of "full ass kickin'".
The way my map looks, Kansas is mid-west.
Your apology is awaited.

"And ran as a Democrat for the state senate in the 60's... Another psycho Democrat."

This guy is no more a product of the Democrats than he is a product of Baptists or Republicans. He's the product of a very sick and diseased mind.

Perhaps it is time to begin "disappearing" a few of these people. As someone mentioned previously, they have to be staying somewhere. Surround one or two of them and take them for a ride through the everglades and push them out of the car about midway through. Let the 'gators, snakes, or leopards take care of them. Perhaps Ocala National Forest the monkeys and apes that roam through will take care of them.

As they are "disappeared", they might take lighter steps.

Exaggerations like yours make conservatives look like idiots. The majority of Democrats are nothing at all like this guy.

I think your suspicion has merit.

But .. I was not aware that any "Baptist" church was on it's own. In fact, in the Assembly of GOD churches - you cannot call yourself an AOG church unless you are under the authority of the church organization. You have to apply to the organization to even establish your church.

I'm curious why this is not true for Baptists. Interesting?

"Thanks for letting me know that. I didn't realize this was the case.
Maybe there should be a "home office" to run some of these idiots out."

No, churches should operate independently. The larger the church the more corrupt when it has a "head". Just look at our government and our "heads". Of course it is corrupt. I believe Lord Acton is right when he stated "... Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

What could be done is have the Southern Baptist Convention head shun this group and distance themselves from this cruel nonsense. Again, though since this "church" is not a member of the SBC they have no real authority over them. The SPC is just a group of Baptist churches that are separate but united in their belief. Clearly this nut has nothing in common with the SBC or God for that matter. It's just plain cruel to further hurt an already grieving family.

"Or, at least let the media know, via press releases, what the majority of the faith think of them."

Trust me ... the media knows who to vilify when it comes to churches and "religion". The media will NOT highlight that they are an anomaly for a Baptist church. Instead the media will try to have them look like the typical Baptist church that is part of the SBC. The main stream liberal media has no time for Godly people but all the time in the world for disinformation and conveniently vilifying their view of groups - recall "right wing conspiracy" people if you are a conservative. The same thing will happen here. If the SBC issues a statement condemning this, it won't be highlighted either - look at how the main stream liberal media reports on the war in Iraq - same thing - reality means nothing to them. They have an agenda.

Houston Freepers:
Was it Fred Phelps who was driving around in a converted schoolbus in 1992, about the time of that year's Southern Baptist Convention? The schoolbus with the loudspeakers and signs with defamatory comments about Ed Young (Second Baptist).

Fred Phelps needs to be exposed as a Democratic operative.

I wonder if some truckers could lend a hand for a couple of hours? Parking their 18 wheelers to block out the #*$&&$@()&)!#$)!#$s would shield the family from their signs.

I understand the mounted police surrounded them at one point but turned the horses around so their hind end was facing the so called protesters.

They should have planned ahead and fed the horses a few gallons of beans.

That's a good idea. The Phelpses are pure garbage. They take cameras with then when they picket and if someone flips them off they get the tag number and harrass the owner. They are dispicable!

Think this might have made a bigger splash if a Republican was with Phelps?
