It would be political trouble for Rove if true, but major egg on Lawrence O'Donnel if it isn't.

Never stopped him before.

Rove married a young woman named Valerie Wainright, whose family was in the Bush social circle in Houston. (The marriage didn't last long, and Rove remarried in 1986; he and his wife, Darby, have one son.)

I saw a post by one of the DUmmies an hour or more ago about this. I Goooooogled etc, to try to find a link but was unable to do so.

I would find it astounding if it is in fact Rove, but ol' Lawrence O'Donnel is sticking his neck on the chopping block if it isn't

PREDICTION: Cooper's notes will probably be sealed as part of the grand jury evidence. No one will be charged, besides possibly Cooper and Miller going to jail for contempt. The notes will never be revealed. So O'Donnel can make these claims and not have to prove them.

To be honest with you, no one's going to be surprised if he was the source of the leak.

I would be. Although Robert Novak has not revealed exactly who the leaker was, I do remember him saying that his source did not come from the White House.

"All in all, it's no big deal if it was Rove, IMO, except that it will be bad PR. I don't think there is a criminal case to be made."

Yeah but most of us know about the connections between Saddam's Iraq and Al-Queso yet it's an extremely popular talking point to claim that President Bush "lied about Saddam's involvement in 9/11". Two completely different things, yet when spun properly...

This isn't good, but if it helped change the B.S. games the press and politicians play with leaking information, then so be it. Of course, it will only cut against conservatives. These notes would never be given up if Hillary was the leaker.

Journalism is so dishonest. Politicians dance with the devil way too often. They ought to keep their mouths shut.

Here's what the Bush administration should be doing: Getting personal security accounts for every American and getting conservatives on the Court.

I remember when this story broke, Novak mentioned that it was someone who was "not particularly partisan." It may have been a feint but at the time the conventional wisdom was that "Scooter" Libby was the leaker.

FWIW I found this. Am not familiar with this publication.

Plugging Leaks
More details emerge on the Plame investigation, as Karl Rove's testimony is revealed for the first time.

By Murray S. Waas
Web Exclusive: 3.8.04
Print Friendly | Email Article

President Bush's chief political adviser, Karl Rove, told the FBI in an interview last October that he circulated and discussed damaging information regarding CIA operative Valerie Plame with others in the White House, outside political consultants, and journalists, according to a government official and an attorney familiar with the ongoing special counsel's investigation of the matter.

But Rove also adamantly insisted to the FBI that he was not the administration official who leaked the information that Plame was a covert CIA operative to conservative columnist Robert Novak last July. Rather, Rove insisted, he had only circulated information about Plame after it had appeared in Novak's column. He also told the FBI, the same sources said, that circulating the information was a legitimate means to counter what he claimed was politically motivated criticism of the Bush administration by Plame's husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson.

O'Donnell's just talking out his ass - even at that what comes out of there actually makes more sense than what comes out his cake hole. Joe Wilson started the whole "Rove was the leaker" meme, and Rove's all over the news these days for his comments about liberals and 9/11. Even a mental pygmy like O'Donnell could string those together to come up with a shot at the guy he feels is most responsible for John Kerry's defeat and is therefore his most despised person in DC.

He's having a big party tonight at his place where everybody can crash and wake up already at the concert. They can stand at his big bay window and watch the show if they want (his apartment building was built circa 1955 and all the windows can be opened), or go downstairs and out the front door to join the crowd. Nice deal for them.

I asked my son if I could come down and stay over but he was definitely not interested in dear ol' Dad joining in the festivities. Can't blame him, I guess....

Anyways, I did spent the day at JFK Stadium back in 1985 for the original Live Aid Concert (when my son was only 1, HA!) and it was an awesome show (even if it was about the hottest day of the year) and I doubt tomorrow's show will top that. So I'll just have to live with my memories.

Regards,
LH

I think he'll get roasted if it isn't true. He basically dissappeared from MSNBC for his last outburst.

Lawrence O'Donnell Goes Berserk On TV

I can't see how or why MSM would keep a lid on Rove being the leaker. They hate Bush too much.
