O'Connor's Retirement Causes 'Ominous Vacancy,' Liberals Say

(CNSNews.com) - Liberal organizations reacted quickly and strongly to Sandra Day O'Connor's retirement on Friday, referring to her departure as creating "an ominous vacancy" that could lead to "terrible changes" on the U.S. Supreme Court.

"The battle for the Supreme Court has begun," declared a release from NARAL Pro-Choice America that featured a picture of President George W. Bush. "Don't let his choice end yours.

"Justice Sandra Day O'Connor's retirement gives President Bush and the radical right the chance they've been waiting for to overturn Roe v. Wade," according to the group's website. "They're pulling out all the stops to push through President Bush's anti-choice judicial nominees to the Supreme Court. We cannot let it happen.

"Help save the Supreme Court from President Bush: Tell your senators to vote NO on anti-choice nominees!"

A similar call was sounded by Vicki Saporta, president and CEO of the National Abortion Federation, who urged that "Bush should choose moderation over extremism" when selecting O'Connor's successor.

Ok, so which senate RINO's can't we count on to break the filibuster? Better put on the full court pressure NOW!

The only ominous vacancies are in the craniums of the 'Rats and their liberal/leftist accomplices in the media and in other special interest groups.

I just watched the insufferable Ellen Ratner on Fox and Friends go into "vapors" at the prospect of another Scalia or Thomas. She had the nerve to "advise" the president to nominate Joe Lieberman or George Mitchell.

If she said "vapors" once she said it ten times. Almost apopleptic when someone suggested John Cornyn. The Libs will be spewing and stuttering for the next several days and their 4th of July celebrations will be ruined. It is great to be an American.

Ah yes, the wailing and gnashing of teeth, the demorilization, despondency.......... all words I love to hear when applied to the lefties.

On a serious note, I'll not get ahead of myself until I see W actually put forth conservative nominees and the pubbies in the senate doing the right thing.

Now let's see how long the vaunted McCain et al "compromise" holds up.

Craig Mitnick just said on FNC that the appointment of a SC Justice is more important the the election of the President.

Libs don't celebrate the 4th.

Their big holiday is on May 1st when they watch old newsreels of goosestepping Russians in Red Square, followed by the ICBMs on trailers.

It's also the day when they perform the annual ritual of combing out the lice from their Lenin goatees and change their Che underwear.

I hope the dems have trouble sleeping because of this. It would be even better if they lost their appetites.

Hospitalization because of their fears.

Desperate politicians are great entertainment.

HOPING I AM WRONG..but facts are facts

Quite correct. I believe Earthjustice used to be the Club Sierra Legal Defense Fund or some such.

The frikkin Democrat "liberals" are bullys and brats making demands. Too bad the Republicians don't have the guts and grit to tell them off.

Does anyone believe the O'Connor's sudden retirement might have been prompted by the public outrage over the Supreme Court's recent Public Domain decision and the public's reactive movement to seize Souter's precious farmhouse and property?
