I drink a boatload of green tea every day. 2 shops about 50 steps from my home/office sell big o' cups of it very cheap. Mmmmm...good! Here is one of them, and yes that is 500ml bottles of Heineken beer. They make a drink mixing that and some fruit juice. Quite tasty but I prefer Taiwan beer...straight.

Green Tea is good for you for many other reasons..
Personally speaking, I don't trust much of anything the FDA does or says..
They are far too politically influenced in their decisions, as well as drug industry influence..
Far too many of these government officials and elected representatives end up on the "board of directors" or something after they retire or lose an election..

Great, now that I have developed a taste for green tea

If the FDA had found that green tea fights cancer, the next thing you know the FDA would try to ban green tea.

Great, now that I have developed a taste for green tea É You are much better off drinking green tea instead of, say, soft drinks or coffee whether or not green tea fights cancer. The acid in soft drinks will dissolve your teeth and all that refined sugar is bad. I'll have a soft drink once a month or so but I know people who buy those huge two litre bottles of the stuff and drink it like it is water -- yecch!

Ill go through about a six pack of diet Pepsi a month. My coffee is down to about 3-5 mugs a day. Before I retired I was constantly drinking that good Army coffee. Our crews actually made a bet one day as to which skipper drank more coffee my crew collected.

Can't say much about it curing cancer, but I can say for sure that it clears up Uretheritis, which I had a problem with before discovering Green Tea.

I still enjoy green tea, but now include some white on occasion, as well. The FDA can go pound sand.

Of course, the FDA wouldn't want the public to have anything that might have health benefits without the public paying tribute to the pharmaceutical manufacturer-physician-attorney consortium.

Try the mix of black and green tea scented with Jasmine. It is sensational! You might like it, too.

Normally I have a cup of java upon awakening , and that is it for coffee until the next day . Green tea is all I drink when at school ( very seldom I'll have a cup of coffee ) . The stuff isn't " delicious " in the strictest sense of the word , but it's hot ( or one can drink it chilled in summer ) , and knowing it is good for me makes it taste all that much better .

The FDA is a slave to corporate interests and I wouldn't trust them as far as I kick them.
Green tea studies have been going on for over a decade showing positive results.
The FDA is, as usual, way late.
