Fuhrman: Grand Jury should probe Terri Schiavo case (if Fla. won't, then US DOJ should, he says)

Famed detective Mark Fuhrman is calling for a grand jury probe of the Terri Schiavo case, saying there's no other way to get to the bottom of the unexplained 1990 collapse of the then-26-year-old woman.

"I want a grand jury investigation," he told ABC Radio host Sean Hannity on Tuesday, adding that Schiavo's parents also favor the move.

Fuhrman, whose book "Silent Witness" hit bookstores this week, said that if Florida prosecutors decline to convene a grand jury probe, the Justice Department should step in.

He asked, "Were Terri's civil rights violated? When I looked at this case, she never got the due process of a death row inmate."

A similar investigative book by Fuhrman, "Murder in Greenwich," is credited with forcing Connecticut prosecutors to re-examine the 1975 murder of Martha Moxley, resulting in the conviction of Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel.

In the Terri Schiavo case, Fuhrman said most of the questions revolve around her husband, Michael, and the conflicting stories he's told over the years.

"Michael Schiavo can't seem to remember anything consistently," he told Hannity, citing discrepancies in Michael's account of his reaction to his wife's collapse and the time he called paramedics.

"We have to have Michael Schiavo sit in front of a grand jury," the famed detective urged, noting that Schiavo has refused over the years to be questioned under oath in a deposition. "[A grand jury] is the only way to investigate this case."

Asked if he'd ever seen a case with so many unanswered questions, Fuhrman told Hannity: "Yeah, it's called Martha Moxley."

You see many times in court that perjured testimony leads to convictions, Police officers who will perjure themselves to get a guilty verdict are a danger to the Justice system.

This is ridiculous because it`s going to be virtually impossible to find, much less try, much less convict Michael on anything. The autopsy revealed no foul play which was expected being that she collapsed 15 years earlier, but somebody telling inconsistent stories is not much in the way of evidence. Unless some evidence comes out that we haven`t heard about, such as a witness or evidence from 15 years earlier she was strangled or poisoned, nothing is going to happen to him at all.

Man I can`t stand those Kennedys, look how long it took them to put that fat bastard away, 30 freggin` years! Just as an example of how different those slimebags are treated from me and you, a guy I was friends with with 20 years ago got into the same type of accident as Ted "Blotto" Kennedy. He was driving his car drunk and went into a pole killing his passenger (his girlfriend)..He ended up doing 5 years in prison and when he got out he eventually killed himself a few years later by blowing his chest out with a shotgun. The guilt was enormous, he was constantly depressed, he was in debt up to his eyeballs and the family of the victim would not forgive him. Yes he made a tremendous mistake, yes he was guilty, but it was one of the most painful things I ever witnessed in my life for someone to go through.

Teddy on the other hand not only killed that girl, he didn`t even report it till the next day, he didn`t even go for help! And he didn`t spend one freggin` day in jail! Instead he was put on a pedestal, celebrated as a Presidential candidate of all things, has been able to remain a multi-millonaire, has been re-elected as Senator for the past 40 plus years every six years, is celebrated as a "leader" of the Democrat party, rants against his country constanly AND he still drinks! If Furman wants to write a book, he should write one on the outrageous double standards that scumbag has been afforded and really put those Kennedys in their place.

I never did figure out why they didn't call Fuhrman's partner, who BTW is black. (Another goof by Marcia Clark.) Nobody mentioned that on Fuhrman's own time, he found proof that a black who was charged with a crime was in fact not guilty. Doesn't sound racist to me.

Furman is a saint and a legal genious he quit the LAPD because he was just too smart to work there any longer and wanted a career writing books. Like I said, for your statements to be true you would have to have DA investigators and prosecutors involved in helping the police convict innocent people. And even judges. So? Are all these people involved?

As far as Fuhrman? Like I said he was and is a good detective. He made a mistake and paid for it. I never said he was a saint or "a legal genius (sic)".

As for police perjury just use google if you can handle that. It does exist and Mark Fuhrman copped a plea to it. Most GOOD detectives dont need it.
