What Florida officials have the power to call a grand jury in this case? Does it depend on Piniellas County? Are any of those with the authority to call a grand jury honest, or will they prefer to toe the liberal line?

Mark Fuhrman, discredited perjurer at the OJ trial has somehow wangled his way into being a talking head and writing books. What is his claim to fame other than being a crappy detective who couldnt find evidence on OJ and then lying when asked if he ever used the N word? Now he has found a subject where many people can be stirred up easily and is using it to carry on making a buck out of others misfortunes.

Listening to Fuhrman dissecting other detectives on TV is a bit like listening to Ted Kennedy speak on morals.

I would rather the people who are calling for her husband's head get a grip.

Times must really be bad for Fuhrman if he has to pimp the Terri story.

My choice for the book title would be "The Three Scams of Michael Schavo."

Scam #1: avoiding being investigated for T.S's injuries;

Scam #2: succeeding at getting malpractice judgement money;

Scam #3: getting the system to kill T.S., thereby keeping the money for himself.

It was Hannity who got Fuhrman involved.

Since Fuhrman is a FNC contributor I guess Hannity calls the shots.

Pathetic.

I would rather see Lady Justice get a grip on Michael Schiavo, who murdered his wife so he could put her away AND keep all of her money. That the unfaithful husband's chief accomplices wore judges' robes does not make them any less guilty.

There was plenty of evidence to convict OJ. But a jury of black women refused to convict him for murdering a white woman who "stole" a black man. Fuhrman's record as a detective is quite stellar -- and as a previous poster mentioned, wrote an investigative book that served as the prosecution's roadmap for the murder trial and conviction of Michael Skakel.

You might not like him, and that's your choice. But Fuhrman had OJ nailed dead to right.

Fuhrman's work put a Kennedy in prison.

The OJ trial was jury nullification, plain and simple.

Furhman was a marine and then was with the LA PD for many years. Working some of the roughest spots in LA. He received numerous comendations.

He's a good investigator. He did screw up by saying he never said the "N Word" but that hardly made OJ guilty.

..........then lying when asked if he ever used the N word...........

So, lying about the use of and actual use of the N word is a cardinal sin which casts doubts on a person's competency. By those standards then, most of the blacks and a large percentage of whites are incompetent boobs because they either have used the N word or are using it.

If you're hell bent on fingering incompetence in the OJ trial, look no farther than the jury.

Mark Fuhrman is an articulate and intelligent speaker and writer. I just finished his book on Terri Schindler Schiavo, and consider it excellent. The second printing should have the autopsy results analyzed by Fuhrman.

Fox Cable has gotten pretty bad lately. When I scan with my TIVO device, Mark Fuhrman is the one that keeps my interest. O'Reilly usually is good for 5 minutes max; Hannity/Colmes is good for 5-7 minutes viewing; Greta has been fair reporting from Aruba, confronting police chief. Her show deserves about 7 minutes using TIVO.

You're right on all points. I think Fuhrman has gone a long way to restore his reputation with these books he's written.

He does a good job with the timeline in the Terri Schiavo book. He writes about the inconsistencies in Michael's accounts of Terri's collapse, like Michael saying he cradled Terri in his arms after he found her on the floor, but Bobby, Terri's brother, saying that when he showed up Terri was face down on the floor. Did Michael pick Terri up and then put her back down on her face?

One inconsistency by itself is not anything to wonder at but when you have a bunch of them it's worth looking at. That's what Fuhrhman did with his book and he did a good job.

Whoever investigates this case must ensure we never again see any judge order the murder of an innocent human being, in the face of opposition from the President, Governor, and Congress.

I read it a few days ago. Good book, lots of information I hadn't read anywhere else, and I've read plenty on Schiavo.
Wish he'd waited a few weeks though, for the autopsy report. Not having done so, he's going to have to rewrite some portion of the first edition, not just add a chapter somewhere.
Still, I'd recommend it. He tries to be fair but from a cop's pov, Michael Schiavo reeks of deceit at the very least.
Worst flaw in book: Bobby's impossible sketch of the Schiavo apt. floor plan. Should have left that on the cutting room floor, so to speak.

Unofrtunately, we have been losing the PR battle on Schiavo, and it cost Terri her life. Her husband's behavior, and his lawyer's demeanor, have been world-class creepy. The fact that it takes Fuhrman to tell the truth is unfortunate.

OJ trial was lost the moment the jury was chosen. In cases of major crimes involving a celebrity, juries are not likely to convict no matter what the evidence, and in OJ case the evidence was overwhelming.

Mark Fuhrman is a fascinating speaker (along with liberal Jeff Feiger) and an excellent investigator. It is because of him that a Kennedy was convicted

Strange how life turns out to be. The OJ trial was the best thing that happened to Fuhrman and now has several popular books.

Amazing how people here get in a frenzy of bashing Fuhrman, and reveal merely their own bitterness.

There is no doubt in my mind that Michael is the reason that Terri is dead now. It hurts me to the core that so many people for their own personal reasons let that bully get away with everything. It says a lot about them and maybe how they tried to push death on an innocent woman. I would not let them babysit my alligator.

Sadly, I may be preaching to the choir here, but here goes....

Regardless of where anyone stands on the issue of Terri's death, anyone who wants Terri to be at peace should support an investigation. Death with dignity means more than just how one dies.

If, and I mean IF, there is any chance of foul play, she derserves the respect, the dignity, the right to rest in peace with no questions unanswered.

My personal opnion is that an investigation is warranted. I have read court records and have listened to Michael Schiavo and found the contradictions disturbing.

If Schiavo is innocent---we will owe him an apology and I will be first in line.

But we cannot allow what may or may not have happened so many years ago to remain intertwined with the issue of how she died in 2005. They are 2 separate animals.

Thats your privilege, You dont mind if I continue to comment do you?

You see many times in court that perjured testimony leads to convictions, Police officers who will perjure themselves to get a guilty verdict are a danger to the Justice system. Now why did Furhman perjure himself? Was it to protect his honor or to lend credibility to his testimony . Obviously it was to lend credibility to his testimony. Mark Furman pleaded no contest to a perjury charge and was given 3 years probation,. As he could no longer be a police officer he quit and received his pension. The man you so vigourously defend was called a bad cop by Marcia Clarke and had to defend himself multiple times of using excessive force. Now because he defends your views on the Terri Schiavvo affair and because he has placed himself in the public eye by jumping into other very public cases he is your idea of a Super cop and my comments are not worth reading, Thats fine, dont read them.

This is ridiculous because it`s going to be virtually impossible to find, much less try, much less convict Michael on anything. The autopsy revealed no foul play which was expected being that she collapsed 15 years earlier, but somebody telling inconsistent stories is not much in the way of evidence. Unless some evidence comes out that we haven`t heard about, such as a witness or evidence from 15 years earlier she was strangled or poisoned, nothing is going to happen to him at all.

Look at his face "But I`m a Kennedy! I`m untouchable! You can`t do this to me!" (Oh if only it was Teddy too!) What`s going on with that slimebag anyway? Is he up for an appeal or is he doing the whole 20 years or whatever he got? Amazing he ever was convicted, there is a God.

Man I can`t stand those Kennedys, look how long it took them to put that fat bastard away, 30 freggin` years! Just as an example of how different those slimebags are treated from me and you, a guy I was friends with with 20 years ago got into the same type of accident as Ted "Blotto" Kennedy. He was driving his car drunk and went into a pole killing his passenger (his girlfriend)..He ended up doing 5 years in prison and when he got out he eventually killed himself a few years later by blowing his chest out with a shotgun. The guilt was enormous, he was constantly depressed, he was in debt up to his eyeballs and the family of the victim would not forgive him. Yes he made a tremendous mistake, yes he was guilty, but it was one of the most painful things I ever witnessed in my life for someone to go through.

Teddy on the other hand not only killed that girl, he didn`t even report it till the next day, he didn`t even go for help! And he didn`t spend one freggin` day in jail! Instead he was put on a pedestal, celebrated as a Presidential candidate of all things, has been able to remain a multi-millonaire, has been re-elected as Senator for the past 40 plus years every six years, is celebrated as a "leader" of the Democrat party, rants against his country constanly AND he still drinks! If Furman wants to write a book, he should write one on the outrageous double standards that scumbag has been afforded and really put those Kennedys in their place.

Gee, you don`t think he drinks now do you?
