Except, it turns out, Plame was neither "covert" nor an "operative".
She wasn't at the time of the disclosure, but she had been.
And the law does not stop the minute she's no longer covert. I don't know why you'all are spending so much effort trying to defend these idiots. They shouldn't have done it, and they did. And their only excuse is that they did not do it intentionally. In other words, they were too damn stupid to realize what they were doing.
Now we've got a grand jury investigating the matter. Anytime you've got a grand jury, you know someone screwed up bigtime.
The only good thing you can say about it is that it did not tip the election to the traitor, John Kerry. But it could have.
On the other hand she was quite willing to be Wilson's third wife ~ whatever that means ~ Fur Shur I'd never been tempted to date any woman like that.
State Department did keep a team of girls "on call" for certain purposes ~ back in FDR's day, the same team was kept "on call", but had day jobs at Post Office Department headquarters at 12th and Penn. A foreign dignitary, in need, could stop by and see FDR's "fixer" (James Farley, the PMG) and check out the babes in the magnificent third-floor office seemingly designed for that purpose.
What surprises me is that Plame even thought of marriage.
I blame Plame's husband, Joe Wilson, the lying partisan democrat ambassador who made the false complaint in the first place. If the prosecutor nails anybody it should be Wilson.
