Mr. Mandy Grunwald will lie to the grand jury, I have no doubt.

""Fox reporting that Cooper said until shortly before the hearing he was not going to cave and then he claims that in somewhat dramatic fashion he was contacted by his source and the source relieved him from confidentiality.""

Oh brother indeed. He wrote sources, plural. And that subpena was broad about his info on Plame, Wilson, and WMDs.

Maybe it was like the movie Mission Impossible and Bush lowered Rove from a rope above the ceiling and Rove hacked into the CIA computer and stole the names of Covert Agents.

Cooper: And some government officials have noted to TIME in interviews, (as well as to syndicated columnist Robert Novak) that Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame, is a CIA official who monitors the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

She's good as gone. No way the court can take it this far and then let up.

DC jail doesn't sound like all that much fun.

****Fox reporting that Cooper said until shortly before the hearing he was not going to cave and then he claims that in somewhat dramatic fashion he was contacted by his source and the source relieved him from confidentiality.

I heard the source waived this just this morning. Would that not indicate it was someone other than Rove, since he waived it earlier?

Remember THIS from March, 2004?

Plugging Leaks
More details emerge on the Plame investigation, as Karl Rove's testimony is revealed for the first time.

By Murray S. Waas

President Bush's chief political adviser, Karl Rove, told the FBI in an interview last October that he circulated and discussed damaging information regarding CIA operative Valerie Plame with others in the White House, outside political consultants, and journalists, according to a government official and an attorney familiar with the ongoing special counsel's investigation of the matter.

But Rove also adamantly insisted to the FBI that he was not the administration official who leaked the information that Plame was a covert CIA operative to conservative columnist Robert Novak last July. Rather, Rove insisted, he had only circulated information about Plame after it had appeared in Novak's column. He also told the FBI, the same sources said, that circulating the information was a legitimate means to counter what he claimed was politically motivated criticism of the Bush administration by Plame's husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson.

Rove and other White House officials described to the FBI what sources characterized as an aggressive campaign to discredit Wilson through the leaking and disseminating of derogatory information regarding him and his wife to the press, utilizing proxies such as conservative interest groups and the Republican National Committee to achieve those ends, and distributing talking points to allies of the administration on Capitol Hill and elsewhere. Rove is said to have named at least six other administration officials who were involved in the effort to discredit Wilson.

And they had all the names written on a single piece of paper behind unbreakable glass. The only way they could break the glass was to lower Coopers fat behind on from a crane. They had to watch out because Agent Cheney was on guard duty that night.

****Fox reporting that Cooper said until shortly before the hearing he was not going to cave and then he claims that in somewhat dramatic fashion he was contacted by his source and the source relieved him from confidentiality.

BTW, if Cooper is now claiming that his "source" has released him and he can NAME his source -- well, I guess Lawrence O'Donnell was wrong about Rove, huh?

Well yes, but I eliminated Rove long ago based on the fact that he wouldn't possess the knowledge in the first place to be able to leak it.

Plus the fact that an ethical WH means you can take their word over those of the shady types.

I think we have the makings of a movie here. We can call it "Team America II: The Wrath of Rove". Most likely everyone who went to see F 9/11 will want to see this. We can donate all profits to the RNC.

First thing that popped in my head, too.

Alter on MSNBC stirring the "Rove admits he talked with reporters" pot. Good grief

Jonathan Alter on MSNBC, still beating the "Rove is Cooper's source" drum.
