13 seconds is no big deal. But if cyclingnews is correct in that the crash was at the 900m to go mark, then they should correct that to give the peloton all the same time as the stage winner.

Just held back - it seems that just the sprinters at the front went down.

Velonews is saying 700m, and the TDF site also says 900. But it's hard to tell whether the crash was prior to that or outside the 1km flag...

Here is what the rules say: "In the event a rider or riders suffer a fall, puncture or mechanical incident after passing the “red flame,” and such an incident is duly recognised, in the last 3 kilometres, the rider or riders involved are credited with the same finishing time of the rider or riders they were with at the time of the incident. "

Lance didn't go down so he doesn't get the same time as the winner.

17:02 - Armstrong Safe In 32nd Place

Lance Armstrong was held up by the crash but did not come down. He finished in 19th place and will wear the yellow jersey again in stage seven. There has been no significant change to the general classification after stage six.

17:01 - The Top 10 In Stage Six

The crash on the final turn has caused total chaos. All the usual winning candidates were taken out of the picture but nothing can be taken away from Lorenzo Bernucci who was in the right place at the right time.

The top 10 is:

Bernucci had already broken free before the crash, so the riders involved with the crash wouldn't be credited with his time.

According to the TDF site, a large group of riders (including all the GC contenders) have been credited with a time 7 seconds back. Vino was credited with the winners' time, so he gains 7 seconds on all the other GC contenders.

Vino is now 62" behind Armstrong.

I think that's factored in. Vinokourov was 1:20-something back, so the 7 seconds plus time bonus should take him down to about a minute back.
