Most pundits gave Prime Minister Tony Blair rave reviews yesterday after he assured a his stunned nation that al-Qaida's attack on London would not persuade him to abandon the war on terror.
But NBC's Katie Couric apparently wasn't impressed.
Covering the aftermath of the attacks live with NBC "Nightly News" anchorman Brian Williams, the "Today" show hostess observed: "He is quite a polarizing figure in Great Britain. I know his support of President Bush, his support of the Iraq war, has won him, actually, a lot of enemies."
Citing a recent poll that showed 68 percent of Brits opposed the Iraq war, Couric suggested that they might actually blame Blair for the attacks, wondering aloud, "Do you think this is going to create more antagonism toward the British prime minister?"
Fox News radio host Tony Snow, who aired the Couric clips on his Friday broadcast, sympathized with Williams, who had to sit by as his NBC colleague struck one negative note after another.
"If I'm Brian Williams, I'm hating life" during Couric's rant, said Snow.
If the Brits won't blame Blair, Catie will happily do it for them.
I blame Katie and here pandering to the US is bad crowd.
Yet my parents still enjoy watching this b-tch.
Or perhaps the Brits will blame the killer Muslim terrorists for the attacks...? This would surely place Ms. Couric in the hissy.
It's interesting that the hopes of liberals coincide so closely with the hopes of Al Qaeda.

To think, the Libs in this country used to love Tony Blair. Until he befriended G.W.B. and proved to be above politics by standing beside us in the WOT. The first they might forgive, the second they find unforgiveable. How sick is that? Someone that doesn't give a damn about public opinion because his citizens are in jeopardy and Katie hopes he pays a severe price for it.
I wonder what a new poll would say. The Brits are not very different than Americans when it comes down to it. Our polls show similar numbers. But we're 4 years after 9/11 and the simple among us forget. The Brits, God bless 'em, have it fresh in their minds. These are the same Brits that brought along nukes to the Falklands. They're a good people.
