Yesterday I posted a thread about an political activism project I'm working on, and asked Freepers with particular skills or expertise to contact me if they think they might like to help.
We have a LOT of talented people with numerous specialized skill sets on FR, and I believe that it is in keeping with the spirit of the website to establish some type of formalized Skills Exchange area.
If you have a political activism project that needs special skills, or if you have skills and are willing to donate a little time to the right project, then this is the place to let everyone know.
I hope the moderators agree that this is a worthwhile function here on FR, and I hope to make this a regular, if not a daily thread.
In the meantime, we are still looking for skilled people to help with our project here in Massachusetts. But you don't necessarily have to live here to help.
Here is what I posted yesterday:
I and a colleague are in the process of setting up a non-profit political action/advocacy group in Massachusetts.
We have a specific focus which I will not go into here at the moment, but the project timeline is tied to the next 15 months between now and the '06 elections.
I would like to know what Freeper talents might be available out there to help us in our efforts.
I am hoping that if you get juiced about this project, which I think a number of you will, you might be willing to help us by providing information and helpful suggestions, and by donating a little time using your particular skill sets to advance the mission.
At the moment we are looking for the specific types of skills listed below, but would love to build a database of anyone who might now or in the future be willing to give some time and expertise to help us in any area.
Right now we have little or no money to spend, although I expect that to change as we developing our funding sources and methods.
In the meantime, here is what we need right now:
1) Massachesetts videographer. We have an idea for a video commercial, and need a videographer to make it happen.
2) People experienced with the mechanics and procedures of setting up PACs, Foundations, non-profits, etc. Lawyers especially appreciated.
3) Graphic designers
4) Web designers
If you don't have the time or skills to help us, we will appreciate a referral or a ping to anyone you know who might.
We have very ambitious aspirations and not a lot of time, so we need all the talents and support we can muster.
I will explain the project to anyone who Freepmails me.
As always, thanks to my fellow Freepers.
Right now I'm messing with something called remoting, but that requires that the incoming (client) computer have a .NET framework installed. No guarentee there. ASP.NET is probably the best customer-facing solution.
I kin make fartin' sounds usin' muh armpit.
I'm a professional graphic artist with very little time but I'd be happy to help in some small way.
well...I'm a practicing Catholic but there is a huge Hassidic community right down the road from me (I am in Mt Kisco, NY...ironically three miles from sir hillary and bobo)...if I can help let me know.
gotta love it...I will surely pass this around.
I need someone from the community to go on record that the pardon was an exchange for Hillary votes.
And I have motorcycles. Anything else on your list?
that's a tough one....what community do you mean?? I know Hassidic but is there a specific Hassidic community in NY you are looking for??
NEW YORK (UPI) The U.S. attorney's probe of the pardon of fugitive financier Marc Rich has expanded to the four presidential pardons of four Jewish men convicted of stealing $40 million from taxpayers for a fake school.
Mary Jo White, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, is investigating a possible link between the last-minute pardon by former President Bill Clinton of four New Yorkers and votes for Hillary Clinton's Senate election last November.
Kalmen Stern, David Goldstein, Benjamin Berger and Jacob Elbaum were serving prison sentences of up to 6.5 years for bilking $40 million worth of student Pell grants and loans from government sources for a phony school in the Hasidic community of New Square, N.Y.
Sen. Clinton said that although she attended a White House meeting in which the pardon issue was raised, "I never made any view known."
Last month, she refused to talk about the controversial pardons of the four New York Hasidic Jews by her husband. New Square voted 1359-10 for the first lady although other nearby Hasidic enclaves voted 3480-152 for Clinton's GOP opponent, former Rep. Rick Lazio.
I don't know where New Square is...occasionally they walk past my house...very friendly and always wave...I will try and strike up a conversation with them some time.
It's a GREAT idea!
Good topic. We have to find the balance between being too milk toast and being over the top. Milk Toast accomplishes nothing, over the top pleases the choir, but pushes the middle away.
I am a professional commercial writer with editorial experience. I can't promise I'll work on anybody's project especially pro bono, I'm a homeschooling Dad and only have so much time available. But I do good work and I might be able to make some room. Anyone who's interested, freepmail me.
I'd like to see a conservative based educators group. Given that I teach in the belly of liberal cacademia my skills include using the left's tools to undermine the leftist status quo. For example I show "The Passion" in my film classes, I present conservative arguments in all of my classes, etc.
I would be interested in participating in such an endeavour.
I've got nunchuck skills, computer hacking skills...
...one gang tried to get me to join because I'm pretty good with a bowstaff.
You don't want this guy. He's a kool-aid drinking Mac fanatic ;o)
we could've used those nunchuck skills protesting the libs at the RNC last August :)
web hosting
