Skip to comments.Woodward defends Rove on Larry King: "No evidence Rove disclosed identity"

Bob Woodward mounted a vigorous defense of Karl Rove on Larry King Live against the accusation that he leaked the secret identity of a CIA undercover agent. He cautioned against jumping to conclusions and said there is no evidence that Rove disclosed the identity of Wilson's wife. He also went on to say that Rover was simply "talking about her", and may not have known her position as a secret, undercover agent. As such, Woodward maintained, Rove did NOT compromise national security or put anyone's life in danger.
WOW .. what's not kosher here?
in any case, she is not a "covert" agent in any sense of the word.
This is going to backfire on the DUmmies and media. I can't wait!
Why do I have this feeling that DU is filled with comments like "Traitor!" and "He was great back in the Watergate days but now he's gone over to the dark side."
Who would have guessed Rove's defender would turn out to be Bob Watergate Woodward!
I am SHOCKED. Wow. Then again, I think Woodward knows the truth and simply wants to make sure that when the poo flings back in the NYT face, he is far from it.
Do you think that's why Miller went to jail instead of talking? Sure doesn't smell good for that RATS and the MSM.
I'd still like to know why Wilson was sent to Niger for the CIA. Wife's recommendation or not, something stinks there as well.
The silence will be deafening!
If you tell a lie loudly enough and long enough...
Bob Woodward is a straight shooter in my opinion, and I have defended him each and every step of the way, although Howlin thinks he lied about interviewing Casey on his death bed.
How can anybody conclude anything other than Rove being a liar and a traitor?
It's amazing how that always happens.
Damn, and I thought Rove was innocent!
I guess they were worried the Russians would grab her at a DC cocktail party.
Thread just started at DU http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x4075863
Its not surprising. Woodward may be many things but he is not a "rabid" liberal.
It's depressing that the opposition has so little in the way of substantive alternative solutions and proposals that they are reduced to shrill fishing expeditions like this.
Is there ANY PROOF that Plame was an undercover agent?
Or is this one of those cases where if we just say it over and over to ourselves it becomes true by default? You don't have to be a "secret agent man" to be involved in WMD studies at the Agency. The whole thing just doesn't pass the smell test, particularly when we hear from Andrea Mitchell that it was common knowledge around Washington that she worked at the CIA. It would not be common knowledge if she was undercover.
Well, somebody was grabbing her. She arranged for hubby to be out of town for his Niger trip, didn't she?
