Yes, this is very same weasel that prevented the filibuster from being broken.
If people want to follow McMaverick off a cliff like sheep because he says what they want to hear than I don't ever want to hear them complain when they look up in shock at the blood dripping from the knife he puts in their back. And to think, some of these people make fun of Americans voting for a man (Clinton) that said what they wanted to hear. As long as the person has an "R" by their name I guess that lack of character is excused.
McCain blew it when he sabotaged the deal. he is not to be trusted. IF he does the right thing NOW, it'll only be to attempt to claim credit. It's dirty politics at the expense of principle, collegues and Party. It isn't to be applauded.

Do we honestly believe that DeWine, Hagel, McCain, Voinovich (Not to mention the girls, Snowe, Chafee et al.) and the other dozens of RINOs are going to stand with President Bush once the MSM smear machine gets rolling?

I suspect Bush will cave with a Gonzalas or some other "consensus" candidate to fill O'Connor's shoes, and state that she was a moderate, a conservative will replace a conservative opening.
But even if Bush nominates a "true" conservative, it still needs to get 51 votes, 60 if there is a filibuster.
And by my counting, there are too may RINOs in the Senate to guarantee any seat going automatically to a conservative.

We give McCain a lot of grief but he is decidely pro-life, and that will help us here. Democrats are going to look like the jerks they are for stonewalling and McCain will do a good job of making them look that way -- he is, after all, perceived to be very "fair"
Doesn't matter. What matters is that McCain has a long, long track record of being manipulated by liberals and of going along with them. I don't care what he thinks about abortion if he's not a fighter who will STAND with us.
