MONACO - Prince Albert II of Monaco, a quiet and secretive bachelor, was proclaimed ruler of the glitzy Riviera enclave of Monaco Tuesday at a solemn Mass in a cliff-top cathedral where his father was buried three months ago after a 56-year reign.

I guess his son will not inherit the throne because he was concieved outside matrimony? Is that the case? Next in line is Caroline's son.

You're getting a little slow. As a younger man you would have gotten that joke in on the 2nd post.

Isn't he single? I remember from the other article he said he intended to get married. What's wrong with the boy's mother then? Hmmm...

Albert is single. Never married. He has a 2 year old son, which he claimed publically a few days ago. He announced yesterday that he expects more paternity claims to come. He may have many children.

As to the child's mother: I don't know why he isn't marrying her.

Pretty much. He said he'll address paternity issues as they arise. My, my.

Apparently the Mother didn't care when she was making the baby with him.

The Mother is a beautiful black flight attendent, and it's said that although he won't give the boy his last name, he is making financial arrangements to care for his son.

Lots of hoopla for a country about half the size of Central Park. Thanks for posting this thread though, it gives me another excuse to post my favorite picture of Princess Grace, Albert's mother.

Before her marriage to Rainier, she was reportedly involved with Clark Gable, Bing Crosby, Ray Milland, William Holden, Oleg Cassini, and Jean-Pierre Aumont, to name a few.

Yes, I know the story. I was just responding to your post that seemed to put him down for not giving the child his name. I was just pointing out that when the mom isn't married to the father I wouldn't think she would expect the father to give the child his last name. I'm wondering how many of the "other" women thought they would get to be a princess by having his kid? I'm a woman and I can guarantee that some of them thought that very thing.

Princes Grace might win an award for having the world's worst children. Her beauty just did not help her children.
They are all failures.

Prince Albert has the nerve to discuss the morals of banks in Monaco. He barred his son's mother from Monaco, the very place they spent much of their 5 year relationship or fling. I would hate for his son to grow up and know his father decided his fate and his mother's fate like this. I think Albert has treated all his past lovers who became pregnant this way. He obviously doesn't believe in contraception; if that were true the other women wouldn't exist.(Tamara Rotolo) He obviously fills womens minds with empty promises, just to get his way with them. I am sure they are captivated by having a prince's attention. I think the average woman doesn't need to have a child with a prince to be shafted.... some men are just heartless.

Why has the mother been banned from Monaco?
