I wonder why Judge Young calls the prosecutors' presentations "blatently self-serving hearsay", when a DEA agent testified under oath that he never promised that
Enwonwu could could stay in the US if he helped the investigation.

Does the judge have some question that an illegal immigrant Nigerian drug smuggler may not be as credible as a federal law enforcement officer, who has obviously testified under oath many, many times, and never had his testimony doubted?

Judge Young obviously has a God-complex and thinks he rules the world. We, the people, pay his salary and should be in charge of our government according to the Constitution. I guess they don't teach that in law school.

Does this liberal DOH-DOH BIRD judge know something we don't about retaining illegal aliens (and felons on top of that) in the United States ~vs~ sending them back to their own countries?

(Is there an epidemic of illegal aliens "assisting law enforcement" to stem drug trafficking from Mexico? What planet is this man from?)

=============================

"Congress does not much care about immigrant aliens, even those who, after endangering themselves assisting our law enforcement efforts to stem international drug trade, are deported into the hands of the very drug traders upon whom they have informed," Young wrote.

You should be the appointee to SCOTUS.

During a court hearing in April, he testified that a DEA agent promised him he could stay in the United States in exchange for his cooperation.

Since when does a DEA Agent have the authority to bestow lawful status on an illegal immigrant or a lawful immigrant subject to deportation? Answer: NEVER

An attorney friend of mine (also a good solid conservative) told me that ever since the 50s that the law schools have taught that "law has no basis in fact and that rulings should be made on the basis of social change".

Considering that the majority of Congress is made of of lawyers and all judges start out that way it becomes very obvious why we have the laws and rulings that we do.

The lawyers that aren't dead and burried that have a solid education and backround in the "law" are soon to become that way.

But Young said Congress took that decision out of his hands in May when it passed the REAL ID Act, a law that makes it harder for immigrants to gain amnesty. <<<

Young, and other elitist, tyrannical judges, need to understand just who they work for..it is WE THE PEOPLE..it is OUR CONGRESS.

Judges who want to legislate according to their own twisted views need censure if not impeachment.

There are times... And they're getting more frequent, that I get the distinct impression we're losing both our great national republic and the great state republic of CA, simultaneously!!!

"It was an area of the law that the 9/11 commission pointed to as an area of weakness,"

Question: why didn't the 9/11 commission recommend sealing or strengthening the "weak" US borders?

U.S. Constitution Article 4 Section 4:

and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"

Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]

1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.

This is a turf issue not an immigration issue.

Federal courts have been the last bastion of delay for the deported. since this person was held for a drug smuggling felony he was going to be deported.

If there is indeed an agreement to keep him then the proper channel immigration court will honor that agreement.

FOLKS DO NOT BE FOOLED the talking point in all the Bar conventions and conferences is "independence of the judiciary". Judges think people still respect the black robe.

...Young argued that the new law endangers immigrants like Enwonwu, who claims he will be jailed, tortured and possibly killed if sent back to Nigeria...

Hey Young, you lib, we cannot save the world through you. I personally am glad that our legislators have finally made a law to take these types of decisions away from our judicial system.

Remember conservative and liberal minded judges HATED the federal sentencing guidelines because they viewed them as the legislature encroaching on "their turf"
