The RINO's will turn on Rove next. It won't be long until the Bushbots claim that Rove is a liability. Bush needs to step up.

If he stays silent, the media will continue to flail away with what they've got, which is nothing but a bunch of innuendo and rumor-mongering. If he speaks up in defense of Rove, they'll claim he's part of the cover-up, and that he lied when he "promised" to fire anyone involved with the "leak." Plus they'll parse his statement letter by letter, looking for any little technical inconsistency they can find to accuse him of lying again.

And, if he does fire Rove or accept Rove's resignation, the media will say this "proves" the White House knew he was guilty , that someone higher up than Rove must have sanctioned the "leak", and they'll set their sights higher up the food chain, probably on Dick Cheney.

And then from there, the calls for impeachment.

She was not a covert agent. She had not been covert for nine years as she was outed by Aldrich Ames prior to 1994 and then again by the Cubans. She was assigned a desk job as an analyst at that time for her own safety.

The identity of CIA officer Valerie Plame was compromised twice before her name appeared in a news column that triggered a federal illegal-disclosure investigation, U.S. officials say.

Mrs. Plame's identity as an undercover CIA officer was first disclosed to Russia in the mid-1990s by a Moscow spy, said officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity. In a second compromise, officials said a more recent inadvertent disclosure resulted in references to Mrs. Plame in confidential documents sent by the CIA to the U.S. Interests Section of the Swiss Embassy in Havana.

The documents were supposed to be sealed from the Cuban government, but intelligence officials said the Cubans read the classified material and learned the secrets contained in them, the officials said.

Washington Times

She would have had to have been covert in the last five years for Rove to have broken the law, per former Assistant Deputy Attorney General Victoria Toensing, who helped draft the 1982 law in question.

For Plame's outing to have been illegal, the one-time deputy AG explained, "her status as undercover must be classified." Also, Plame "must have been assigned to duty outside the United States currently or in the past five years."

The sad part is you and I and most freepers know the FACTS, something MSM and (sadly) FOX have neglected.

Bob Sellars seemed knowledgable this morning and said he was not interested in the BS (my word).

Newt seems to be leading the pack. He is doing exactly what I said should be done. Be the first to frame the argument. Frame it with the truth. Do not let the dems define this.

(Sure would like to think he read my little rant regarding the above and how sick and tired I am of being regarded as an idiot by the DC Pols and MSM. NAH!!! But he could have!)

And what are we to think? No one reporting this as the next Watergate can investigate this? Are they taking the word of the NYT's on this without question? Have they forgotten Dan Rather and how he was exposed for using forgeries?
