If you look at the entire Niger story, it points to espionage. It was all left wing - every actor in the whole trip. The left was interfering with U.S. national security.

Perhaps this all got started because Mr. and Mrs. Wilson were hoping to "out" some good-guy informants.

Perhaps Wilson's lies were published, not so much to discredit Bush, but to get this Administration to contradict Wilson's lies.

Perhaps Wilson and Co. were hoping to glean info from the Administration's contradictions

Perhaps they were hoping to determine what people were the real sources of the true information about Saddam shopping for yellowcake.

He hates this country, and by extension, those who try to defend it--especially the CIA and other intel agencies. (Cf. the Democrat party.)

He wasn't arrested because he went to Cuba.
