The AP has an article as well: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1443317/posts

To the NYT story it adds: " Rove told the grand jury that by the time Novak had called him, he believes he had similar information about Wilson's wife from another reporter but had no recollection of which reporter had told him about it first, the source said.

When Novak inquired about Wilson's wife working for the CIA, Rove indicated he had heard something like that, according to the source's recounting of the grand jury testimony."

REPORTERS SOURCE OF LEAK!!!!

I just wish they would quit the spin game and rip Wilson a new one for being the Drama Queen that started this crap but instead it seems he will get the sympathy pass.

I know this BS is aggravating but remember, we had to put up with this during the election when the MSM even went as far as presenting fake documents to take down this administration. They will twist and spin to the liberals advantage till there is indisputable evidence that Rove is guilty of nothing. We may have to wait till this investigation is over and conclusions made for this to finally stop.

I know in my heart GOOD will prevail over EVIL.

PS - there have been postings saying this is all an attempt to disrupt nomination/s for the SCOTUS. I would be behind President Bush 100% if he made a recess appointment. It's legal and has been done before. These liberals are a detriment to our country, society and safety. I say it's time to take off the gloves and get on with taking care of what needs to be taken care of!

I think Novak used that description and I doubt he would say Wilson was a non-partisan.

Novak's second source could still be Scooter Libby. That wouldn't be good for us since it ties things closer to Cheney. If it's some career bureacrat from the CIA then Josh Marshall will start to cry.

I don't think Fitzgerald's probe is going to end up the way the Rats want it to. Of course, they'll turn on him.

WILSON: My wife was not a clandestine officer the day that Bob Novak blew her identity.

Joe Wilson has plenty of explaining to do himself. I don't think anyone was out to 'smear' Wilson, but I do think Wilson had an ulterior motive in wanting to 'smear' the Bush Administration and attempting to bring about the downfall of GWB. In this excerpt from the Vanity Fair article, Wilson was milking the story of her being exposed for all it was worth. He knew she was not a covert agent and yet he gave the impression she was with this type action: At the Nation award lunch Wilson wept openly on the podium as he looked his wife straight in the eye and declared, "If I could give you back your anonymity ... " He swallowed, unable to speak for a few seconds. "You are the most wonderful person I know. And I'm sorry this has been brought on you." Valerie Plame also teared up. The room was electrified. Moments later Wilson recovered. He concluded his remarks with the climax everyone had been waiting for. "Let me introduce you to my wife, Valerie," he said. I am so sick of hearing about her being exposed to danger etc. because someone identified her...she told Wilson on their third or fourth date who she was and what she did. She wasn't too concerned about keeping her identity a secret since she revealed it to her date who just happened to be a married man!!

I think it's time the Democrats were exposed for the liars they are, and the Wilson's repay the government for his trip to Niger which was set up by his wife!

Drama Queen is an excellent description for Joe Wilson. I can just imagine him writing that NYT piece thinking "Richard Gere will play me in the movie version."

Thanks for that link!

I may just go over to DU to hear the gnashing of teeth and the lamentations of their women (and girlie-men)!

Yep.

What has been proven is that these "reporters" cannot keep their mouths shut and have nothing better to do than spread gossip over the phones lines to everyone in Washington. Laughable that they now act outraged over the possibility of a leak, when they are the ones with tongues moving a while a minute.

Do you know if Gold mines also produce uranium?

Interesting point. Sometimes uranium is produced as a by-product of gold-mining.

South Africa is ranked fifth in world uranium reserves in the 1990s with recoverable reserves estimated at nearly 180,000 tons. Uranium is produced as a by-product of gold in some mines of the Witwatersrand, and as a by-product of copper in the Phalaborwa mines of the far northeast of the country. Since 1968 all uranium produced in South Africa has been processed and marketed by the Nuclear Fuels Corporation of South Africa, a private company owned by the gold mines that produce uranium.

You may have hit the mark about what is being investigated. Maybe something like impersonating a CIA Op or using a CIA Op to gain access to classified info?

Administration official could include anybody working for CIA, FBI, DOJ, DOD, you name it. An official could be some supervisor in any one of those departments plus a dozen more.

She wanted her anonymity so bad she posed in a ridiculous Catherine Hepburn scarf and over-sized sunglasses. That's when I pinned this whole affair as a total joke. I'm sure alot of other people did too.

Rove was stupid to talk to the press about anything. No it's not against any rule or law, BUT it still was stupid.

LOL. Brit Hume just reported that Schumer was one of 32 Dems to vote AGAINST the Identities Protection Act in '82.
