I'm aware of the Quaker oath, but to claim a need to abolish swearing on the Bible is ridiculous all the same.

BTW, can you cite any examples of Christian sects today who believe that swearing an oath is 'taking the Lord's name in vain'? Just curious.

There are the J Witnesses. Not sure just how normative Christian they are, but they don't take oaths.
