"One of the bombers in last week's attacks made a direct phone call to a suspected recruiter for an extremist group in New York. "
why is this not surprising?

The connection may have been found....but the two people on the phone are unknown unless the line is tapped.

a mosque in Queens The sooner our gov't realizes that mosques are terrorist fronts and not "religion of peace" houses of worship, the better.

George Bush and the GOP-majority congress import Islam to this country at the brisk clip of about 100,000 alien muslims per year. Islam is the fastest growing religion in this country because our leaders are bringing in so many muslims from overseas.
To see where are immigration leftists like Ted Kennedy and George Bush taking us, look to London, Amsterdam, Malmo, etc.
These craven hack politicians are taking the USA to Eurabia.

I believe that these terrorists are using our very thinking against us.
They hit London, and now everyone is focused on the "next" attack. The west wants everything here and now, we are sure that there are more attacks likely, here and now.
They carried out a successful operation, likely one that cauterized their network and leaves only enough information to keep the authorities busy chasing down myriad dead end leads that were left for that exact purpose.
Meanwhile, these coordinators have moved on, and are working on their next project in another area.

Folks, closing down every mosque in this country would not solve our problem. Plus, you have to remember that Islamo-Fascism is an EXTREMIST sect of Islam. To close down all mosques in this country is to deny those Muslims who do not seek to engage in their brethren's unholy villainy a place to worship. I propose we set up security at these places to ensure that no underhanded misdealings take place. I still agree with racial profiling, but completely removing Islamic worship centers will not solve our problem, they will simply find other venues from which to communicate (the Terrorists I mean).
Imagine for a moment that a crazed sect of Christianity decided to go arbitrarily murdering people who did not believe in the faith. These extremist Christians begin to utilize Christian churches for their communication centers. What sounds better to you: 1. Completely removing ALL Christian churches from society, or 2. Sending security into these places to ensure terrorist activities are not taking place? You cannot deny the right for people to gather and worship all over the U.S. based on the actions of an extremist minority...I am positive the great majority of "good" Christians would not allow their churches to be closed over a few "bad apples".
Oh yes, and Muslims have been VERY vocal in condemning the London bombings, at least around the area in which I live...Bloomington, Indiana. These "peaceful" Islam worshipers do not identify with these extremists just as most Christians would not identify with Christian extremists who would undertake the same road as the terrorists.
We must be careful how we choose to deal with this situation, lest we become as irrational as the terrorists. Blindly closing anything and everything Muslim is not the answer. Continuing to stay this irrational course of logic will only serve to justify our opposition's arguments that we conservatives are too extreme in our thought. I understand the feelings of rage and distrust we all harbor for Islamo-Fascists, but we can not allow that to blur our vision of doing what is right for all parties involved. And from personal experience, I know the great majority of you on Freerepublic are very intelligent and can appreciate the point I am making here without hurling insults and claims of ignorance my way. We conservatives can not completely close our minds to everyone and everything lest we reap what we have sown.

If it had not been for the Bush crack down on the muslim extremists, the bombing would have happened here.
