Central London is the only place you'd see armed officers on an everyday basis.

I went through Heathrow not too long ago and there were police all over the place in pairs toting MP-5's. American's are used to our cops being armed but you rarely see them lugging submachine guns around over here.

You're right, it was a street cop. But it was a highly skilled sniper that put a bullet through the brain of an innocent unarmed woman holding a baby on the front porch of her home. He was indicted, but he got off. I think my point is, I don't like it when the government removes power to defend oneself from the people and gives it to itself, because then abuses tend to happen. It's against the law in UK to even defend yourself from an attacker, much less a terrorist. We're going down the same path and it inched along when FBI sniper Lon Horiuchi Killed Vickie Weaver at Ruby Ridge. In fact, it inches along every day.
