Time Magazine Refuses To Deny Mandy Grunwald’s Involvement in Rove/Plame Controversy (Vanity)
Self ^ | 7/17/05 | Self

Last week I sent the following e-mails to Time Magazine. They have refused to reply and therefore I believe they are hiding the truth.

Thu, 14 Jul 2005 15:27:52 -0700 (PDT) ty_trippet@timeinc.com

1. Do you have written assurance Matt Cooper did not receive strategic or any other type of advise from his wife and Clinton adviser, Mandy Grunwald, concerning the handling of the Plame/Rove controversy?

2. Why don't you disclose the relationship between Mandy Grunwald and Matt Cooper on any Cooper article concerning politics?

3. Was Miss Grunwald or her father instrumental in Matt Cooper obtaining a job at Time Magazine?

Your cooperation is appreciated.

I see you have refused to answer my previous email.

Has Clinton adviser/Democrat strategist Mandy Grunwald given any advise to Time Magazine or any of the Time Magazine employees involved in the Rove/Plame affair on how to handle the affair?

I am on a deadline. Please reply at your earliest convenience.

Cast of characters:

Matt Cooper, Time Magazine Reporter; Husband of Mandy Grunwald:

Matthew Cooper joined TIME as Deputy Washington Bureau Chief in July 1999. Previously, Cooper was Deputy Washington Bureau Chief and National Correspondent for Newsweek. He joined the magazine as Deputy National Bureau Chief and National Correspondent in August, 1996. His coverage of national affairs included the Clinton scandals, the impeachment trial, Newt Gingrich's resignation and the ensuing power squabble in the GOP, the aborted tobacco settlement, U.S.-Iraq relations, and the upcoming 2000 presidential campaign.

Prior to Newsweek, Cooper was a senior editor at The New Republic, where he wrote the acclaimed "White House Watch" column. He profiled many political insiders. Previously, Cooper was a White House correspondent for U.S. News & World Report, where he covered Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign. He also served as the magazine's Atlanta Bureau Chief. Cooper was also an editor at The Washington Monthly, where he wrote and edited articles on culture and politics. From 1986 to 1987, he was a Washington correspondent for Thompson Newspapers, and from 1984 to 1986, Cooper served as a writer and researcher at the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.

Cooper moonlights as a stand-up comedian, and in November 1998 was named "Washington's Funniest Celebrity" after an evening of comedy at Washington's Improv. His Clinton impersonation has been praised by Vanity Fair and New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd praised him for an ability to "spin whimsy out of smarmy," proclaiming, "I want to be more like Matt Cooper."

Mandy Grunwald, Clinton advisor, Wellstone advisor, wife of Matt Cooper:

Mandy Grunwald was not only media adviser and director of advertising for the 1992 Clinton-Gore campaign, but later designed strategy and ads for Clinton's New York Senate campaign in 2000. She was also an adviser to the Wellstone campaign

She was also daughter of Henry Grunwald.

Henry Grunwald:

Time magazine editor who led the publication's shift from conservatism to a more leftist view.

Russert passed on this today-we can only hope that Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald and his team are investigating the same premise.
Can we say phone records boys and girls ?
In addition,
the official WH photographer must have pictures of the Plame -Wilsons and the Cooper- Grunwalds hob nobbing and air kissing at the same Clinton social events.
Excuse me while I tear out my eyes.

" My husband was just reading this thread, started screaming, and went running down the street. Apparently he had seen a picture that scared the living hell out of him.'

It could only be the spectre of Mandy the Moustachioed Grunwald Cooper or Rosa DeLauro Carville Greenberg that sent him fleeing.
For the Love of God, there might be children and women present, I hope no one posts images.
Prepare to gird thyselves.

Notice Dowd's comment about Cooper: "New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd praised him for an ability to "spin whimsy out of smarmy," proclaiming, "I want to be more like Matt Cooper."

This guy would absolutely enjoy pulling crap on the Bush administration. As a comic, I bet he would be laughing his a** off.

You really need to enlist the help of Rush and Sean with your worth campaign. They can boom that little incriminating fact throughout the land and people will see what a setup this was from the get-go.
I'm a news junky and was wondering about a week ago why Mandy Grunwald was with that little fat guy walking into the courthouse. A few days later, someone on FR mentioned that Cooper was Mrs. Mandy Grunwald. Yes, FR gives you more information than you will ever get in the msm.

I doubt if I could get through to Sean or Rush although I emailed the local conservative talk shows and Hugh Hewitt.

I posted this because of my belief that FR is a great part of the show prep for talkers throughout this great land of ours.

If you have any ideas I am all ears.

Drudge did mention this not long ago. Interesting. How do we know a Clintonista didnt talk to the media first? It's obvious no one in the media can be trusted to tell the truth.

How do we know a Clintonista didn't stage manage the entire Rove/Plame controvery. That is why I asked Time to deny such a connection. Time of course refused to deny the assertion.

Dear Time Magazine,

What role did Mandy Grunwald, Matt Cooper's wife and Clinton political adviser play in the story that Matt wrote about Karl Rove?!

That very clearly frames the question.

Not to disagree, per se, and not intending to insult, but your unanswered emails to "Time" really do not verify your assertion that "Time Magazine Refuses To Deny Mandy Grunwald’s Involvement in Rove/Plame Controversy." Did Time really "refuse," or did some low-level staffer send your emails into the ether, thinking they didn't even deserve to be passed up? You'll never know.

I'm sorry, but there's no There there.

I will suggest an extreme example, to make my point--again, not meaning to insult, I swear: My wacky neighbor sends me a letter demanding that I DENY being the one who poisoned his dog from hell, and I decide not to even deal with the nut.

And then said wacky neighbor is CONVINCED that I must be the one, because I refused to deny.

Like I hope I suggested, I like where your head and heart is, but this is not remotely newsworthy.

I sent e-mails to Time. I gave them some time to answer. They did not answer. They could have answered, they did not therefore they refused to answer. I can truthfully say they refused to answer my e-mails.

Now, I believe I posted it on the activism forum, but at the top of the page it says "news/activism". If it posted on the wrong forum please remove it.

The purpose of the post is to get the word out concerning the relationship between Cooper and Grunwald. A relationship that should be mentioned every time Cooper's name is brought up.

I used a technique that is straight out the MSM playbook to generate a headline that I thought was interesting and furthered the purpose of exposing the relationship between Cooper and Grunwald. You may think it is unfair, but I am just using their playbook.

By the way, do you know Hillary Clinton threw a baby shower for Cooper child?

It is your forum, you are free to pull the post, I will not be insulted.
