High stakes game of poker was played today, and Bush bluffs all-in, the Dems fold.

Bush shows just one pair..

A PAIR OF BALLS!!

Roberts shouls be able to come close to his mentor, Rehnquist, in terms of longevity on the SC..He's a 30 year man...and look for some future GOP president to move him up to CJ

It would seem our President has thrown a nasty curve ball at the left. I think he did o.k. The more the left whines and moans the more convinced I will be that W made a good pick. I was pulling for Ted Olsen....but from what I see so far...not bad.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN
RAISE SHEILDS, LOAD TORPEDO BAYS, AND LOCK PHASERS.

AND CLEAN YOUR LIGHTSABRES...THEY MAY BE NEEDED

Some say W "swaggers".
Here in Texas, we call it "walking".

Beat 'em up, W!

Now if we can just get Roberts confirmed quickly, Justice Renquist can resign and Bush can elevate Scalia and add Jones to the Court.

Hey,
I just got back on the computer. I have been sneezing and freezing all day long. I was covered up on the sofa. I do not know what is wrong with me. I am usually very hot natured. Thanks for the thread.

Thanks.

I hope Dubya supports his nominee better than he did Ashcroft and those appellate nominees, when Bush was a total no-show and left them out to dry. Still, I don't see that the Dems have the stomach for a real filibuster of an SC candidate.

This is definitely a lose-lose for the Dems. I just hope he isn't another "Anthony Kennedy Conservative".

Already decided, see Drudge or ABC news. John G. Roberts is the man- more conservative than most had hoped.

"Oh, its got to be a moderate, consensus pick" - NO!

"Oh, its got to be a minority" - NO!

"Oh, its got to be a woman" - NO!

Its a CONSERVATIVE WHITE MAN!!!!!

In your face, liberals! You have no power or influence over THIS PRESIDENT.

I am happy happy happy. Roberts will support all the right positions that O'conner did and will be on the opposite side of the few issues she provided 5-4 defeats on.

The court has shifted a tad bit more to the right tonight. Good Job DUBYA!
