Washington, DC - Democratic Leader Harry Reid made the following statement today announcing the launch of his new website -
A Word to the Faithful:
As Democratic Leader, Ive made outreach to the faith community a top priority and have had the great privilege of meeting with leaders of many faiths. Ive talked with Protestant ministers about the immorality of a budget that cuts programs for the neediest among us while rewarding those with the most. Ive discussed immigration and poverty with Catholic Bishops, and Ive met with Jewish leaders to discuss ways we can help hardworking families across this country.
My discussions have only reinforced the belief that the Democratic Party and people of all faiths share many values and goals, and I intend to continue my outreach in the months ahead. As part of this effort, it is my honor to introduce you to this website A Word to the Faithful. Its dedicated to illustrating how people of faith and Senate Democrats can work together to lift our neighbors up and achieve our common goals.

This is a joke, right?
Dirty Harry Reid and the Democrats think everyone is stupid! This latest attempt at snagging a few conservative Christian voters is completely pathetic AND
funny!
Humor ping!
Excuse me while I go throw up my dinner....
and also, I am the Antichrist, without affability.
It isn't, yet it is.
What about the seperation of church and state :)
Not long from now this will be one of those sites where the links are all broken and the Breaking News is all nine months old.
Where is the ACLU?
What happened to separation of church and state?
Probably not,the "ministers" that he would talk to wouldn`t have much to do with that topic either.
Yeah...the First Church Of Teddy, The Sewer Rat!
WTF?! Ahem.....Seperation of CHURCH AND STATE ring a bell you dumba$$???
Here is a man that verbally assaults the POTUS on a daily basis and he wants people of faith to embrace his sorry arse? Give me a break..... MJY<--------- still ROFLMAO
Gosh, I hope the democrats remain stupid and keep Harry as their senate leader. He is a good asset for the republican party.
After the Hildabeast declared that she was a "Born Again Ecangelical Chistian" the shackles from the gates of Hypocracy were removed and all of the Socialist started their Pilgramage of False Faith with Lies and Half Truths to try to attract those of little faith among the believers.
"This is a joke, right?"
No, Reid has fallen for the 2004 "values" poll.
Since 2004 his emanations sound like he's being prepped by MoveOn.Org type "progressives" overly-enamored with inside the beltway personality politics.
"faith community "......?
WhoTF are they!!!!!!!!
Sounds like algore with his "faith traditions"...
Well, the quickest way would be for the Democrats to cut taxes...
Lipstick on a Pig??
Is it just me, or is that an admission that these are two separate groups?

Criminal Number 18F
Isnt Reid from Nevada. ? I bet he goes to church at a Nevada wedding chapel.
Oops -- I should have known that somebody (namely, you) beat me to that insight (People of Faith != Senate Dems)

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
The liberal "faithful" Reid is attempting to reach are declining in numbers.
alreasy happened...here's the second story on the site:
Social Security and African Americans
Senator Harry Reid
During the month of February, Black History Month, all Americans celebrate the achievements of African Americans. As we observe these achievements, we must also engage in a serious discussion that will certainly impact the lives of African Americans; the debate over the privatization of Social Security.'
'
who is paying for that website?
Senate Democratic Caucus.
My bullshit detector just melted.
Harry,
As soon as you extract your nose from "muslim-American" a$$cracks to get some air and wipe the sand and camel dung from your eyes, you may notice that truly religious people believe that you are working for the devil.
That trash talking, lying, hatefull, bigoted pile of rotted goat cheese is the last person who anyone with an ounce, (or a tenth of one) of religious fortitude would look to for his political support of it.
Democrats have no limit of how low they will go to try decieve the voter. That became evident when John Kerry started going to gospel churches during the last weeks of the election, so this really doesn't suprize me all that much.
LOL!
I guess Harry's faith is lacking.
Maybe he can get one of those kids who's always coming up to him in restaurants to update his stupid website.
He is probably being told to do this by the dems new Spiritual Guru---Jim Wallis....
About as phoney as a 7 dollar bill, IMHO.
And, if Harry wants to take directions from him, I say go for it Harry...
BTW, isn't Harry a Mormon?
Hey Daschel clone... talk to these religious ministers about supporting liberal abortionist policies and supporting a Godless society and we'll see how long your faith website will last.
BTW, isn't Harry a Mormon?
NO I think it's MORON
Man you guy's/ gal's called it.....
This is the new Democrat scandal! If you read what he said ver-batim he is totally up front about the Democrats and people of faith being two separate groups. We should bang this drum as loudly as possible.
I know it seems small compared to Rove and SCOTUS..but man if we get this horn blowing...he will have to defend the Dems stance on this while questioning all possible conservative nominees about Roe v Wade....oh man you could not ask for a better trap to set.
I think Karl ROve put him up to it.
Pathetic....
Not an issue here, because everyone knows Reid doesn't actually mean it.
The Mormon church needs to have a serious talk with Dingy Harry if he is going to try to use his religion in a phony effort to reach out to truly faithful people. If he is going to use his ties to that Church, they ought to get him to commit to follow policies that the Mormons support--pro life, pro family, pro religion.
Reid wants to be president. LOL
The theme of the telecast, which is called Justice Sunday and will be broadcast to churches and Christian radio and television networks, is "The Filibuster Against People of Faith." Its sponsors argue that by blocking judicial nominees who oppose abortion rights on religious and moral grounds, Democrats are effectively discriminating against those nominees.
May 6, 2005: Civil rights and religious leaders align to oppose legislative 'nuclear option'
snip:
The May 10 letter from civil rights and religious leaders to Senators Frist and Reid said the elimination of the filibuster means "there will be nothing to stop the majority from cutting off debate on regressive proposals concerning issues such as education, civil liberties, national security, and veteran's benefits."
The letter was signed by Barbara Arnwine, Executive Director of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law; Julian Bond, Chairman of the NAACP; the Rev. Robert W. Edgar, General Secretary of the National Council of Churches USA; Marcia Greenberger, Co-President, National Women's Law Center; Dr. Dorothy I. Height, Chairperson, and Wade Henderson, Executive Director, Leadership Conference on Civil Rights; the Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., President and Founder, Rainbow PUSH; the Rev. Joseph Lowery, Chairman Emeritus, Black Leadership Forum; and Marc H. Morial, President and CEO, National Urban League.
Also, Karen K. Narasaki, President and Executive Director, National Asian Pacific American Legal Consortium; Ralph Neas, President, People for the American Way; Debra L. Lichtman, Senior Advisor, National Partnership for Women and Families; Rabbi David Saperstein, Director and Counsel, Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism; Theodore M. Now, with regard to the "civil rights angle": Today an article at Freep: Black Panther foundation seeks to sell "Burn Baby Burn" hot sauce
Call it - a trigger for a search.
Flash point for black churches Gay marriage issue may benefit GOP
One can insert abortion, and any other conservative issues in lieu of "gay marriage" in this article in order to understand why Reid may be "beginning" a "faith" thingee.
On the other side of the aisle, a coalition of religious leaders, community activists and a representative from the National Hip Hop Political Convention held a news conference Saturday in Oakland to start a voter- registration drive and to condemn "the current administration's effort to co- opt African American congregations for partisan political advantage in the presidential election."
The group included the Rev. Amos Brown, pastor at Third Baptist Church and a former San Francisco supervisor, the Rev. Frank Pinkard of Evergreen Baptist Church in Oakland, and former Black Panther Party leaders David Hilliard and Bobby Seale.
While the gay marriage debate swirls, black religious leaders are addressing other, sometimes more pressing, issues such as the large number of children in foster care, unemployment and the disheartening homicide rate among young black males.
The Rev. Frazier put it in perspective with a real-life experience. Last spring, he led a march to San Francisco City Hall on behalf of parents who'd lost children in a rash of killings. His demonstration collided with a gay marriage demonstration at the same time.
"They held signs that said, 'Gays have a right to marry.' Our signs said, 'Black children have a right to live.' "
Sometimes you have to decide which is more important, he said.
I think democrats are getting very desperate. Despite all the spin from the media to prop them up, I bet their coffers aren't filling as they expected.
