Agreed that Roe v. Wade is a State issue. Most states are going top keep abortion legal, so overturning Roe v. Wade is never going to stop abortion.
Dem strategy in a nutshell:
- We don't know enough about Judge Roberts.
- We need to know where he stands on these important issues.
- He refused to answer our questions, so we can't vote to confirm him.
There you have it!
Roberts: I think that is a fair statement Senator, excuse me, Senior Senator Schumer.
Chuckie: Thank you Mr. Roberts. Mr Chairman I have no further questions nor do I see the need for this committee to extend the judicial hearing on Mr. Roberts any further. Mr. Roberts is obviously qualified to be appointed to the Supreme Court. I move to end the Judicial Committee hearings now and call for a unanimous confirmation vote by the committee for Mr. Roberts. I will all so recommend to the full Senate that Mr. Roberts be unanimously confirmed.
I tried to get as much in with what was permitted, this is a must read.
Notice that the code-word for abortion has shifted to "privacy"? The stand must then be 'You can kill an unborn human as long as it is done in private'. This will then extend to euthanasia and maybe even murder if taken to the full extent. No wait, you can do anything you want as long as no one finds out...yeah, that's the ticket!
I just do not see that many states stepping up to the plate and ending abortion. They are making tax revenue off them right?
He quite properly won't answer a question that asks him how he would rule in a case. Rephrase the question.
I'm having trouble accepting these questions as genuine. They are actually formulated in a way which could lead to an intelligent, constructive debate on issues. Chuckie's real questions are more like this:
So, Judge Roberts, after you force women to have abortions in back alleys in Tijuana, and make blacks ride in the back of the bus, how long will it take you and your cronies to set up concentration camps for those who disagree with the Bush administration?
Q. You ever seen a grown man naked before?
Q. Do you like movies about gladiators?
Ok. Is the 2A "infringable" or not? Also, what's your favorite brand of concealed carry holster? Will you be packing while on the bench? If not, why not?
Q. Have you ever been in a Turkish prison?
;-)
I'd be riveted. I'd want Schumers head on a split video screen so I could see it explode if Roberts answered such questions the way I hope he would.
It would not have hurt for you to have mentioned in your post that the story is from May, 2003.
Yeah, I've been wondering about this thing about "I don't care what two people do in the privacy of their bedroom." You don't care if they're cooking meth in the privacy of the bedroom? How about plotting a train bombing? Building an atomic device? "Noo... it's just about sex..." How the hell would you know, Mr. Liberal, if they have this absolute right to privacy? There IS no absolute right to privacy of any kind.
Have you ever sodomized your wife? (I can hardly bring myself to post that, but of course it was the actual question the leftist/communist asked Scalia in the Q&A a few months ago.
I think there should be a rule that any time you're going to show Schumer on TV you have to show a rear shot as well as a front shot. Same with sHrillary.
That excerpting thing...I just HAD to post those questions of Schumer's about the 2000 election. The left will never get over it. LOL
