(1) S. Korean Spec Ops: Group Demonstration by a Few Hundred Troops -- Martial Arts (2min 55sec)
Note: Ear-piercing shrieks during the demo are from female members. It reminds me of a N. Korean military parade including all-female units. N. Korean soldiers bark slogans while marching. When female detachment was marching and barking their slogans, it was really ear-piercing.
(2) N. Korea Spec Ops: Kim Jong-il's Own Bodyguards in Training -- Martial Arts and Shooting (1min 20sec)
Note: This is from a recent BBC video on N. Korea, featuring many topics, including his bodyguards. The bodyguards' demonstration starts at 59 sec into the video, ending at 2min 19sec into the video.

The South Koreans are so incredibly disciplined it's terrifying...
About using head to break things, this is useful in real close-in combat, when two combatants are actually physically tangled up. Hands and feet are no longer effective. However, you can bash nose or face of your opponent with your head. Something of a surprise weapon.
I don't think the north can invade the south for the simple reason that they've told their population that capitalist South Korea is a hellhole far worse than North Korea. Imagine what North Korean soldiers will think when they enter Seoul and see a comparative paradise- they will realize their whole worldview was a complete lie. I don't think the North Korean government can risk their peoples' response to that realization.
a) It increases resistance to pain. Some of those guys can run with broken legs.
b) It is evidence and proof of discipline. Once you break things with your head in practice because someone say so, you're disciplined enough to go.
c) I am sure they have artillery.
I don't think it'll be as easy as you say...The South Koreans are tough, and they don't want to live in a communist 'utopia'...
Initially I don't think it will so much "land" as it will fall from the sky.
So what's so scary about that? Their karate form was poor, they used no hips to generate power, frankly, I was bored. It reminded me of a bunch of mimes, but with sound...
To be precise, it is not karate. They have their own brand of martial arts. Horse-mount stance with straight arm thrust is not their main menu. It is true that group demo tend to make certain compromise to coordinate the group choreography.
Perhaps you want demos for individual or pair performance. I will try to dig around what is available on their websites.
It's not karate, although it is just as effective. They don't use Japanese stances, as you'll notice. They have their own brands of martial arts.
No room to punch or kick? Closs quarters or standing still?
A well executed Head But is one of the most brutal things you'll ever see.
Another potentially effective soft solution is to dump DVD players and video CDs of latest S. Korean melodramas. It could be more effective than dropping burgers.
