That's because many other areas - most of Saskatchewan, Manitoba outside parts of Winnipeg, British Columbia outside Greater Vancouver and the Islands, a good chunk of Ontario, even parts of the Maritimes - are like that as well...

Don't be afraid to leave Alberta for the neighboring provinces...adjoining regions of British Columbia and Saskatchewan are just as conservative...
