Leadership is sorely lacking in the IL-GOP.

Wasn't it the IL-GOP who ran out their last good candidate, because he had propositioned his wife?

It's becoming more obvious by the day that the attacks on Rove were a pre-emptive action by the Dems to allow them to claim that the Administration is just looking for a quid pro quo.

Actually, all the more reason to strengthen the Patriot Act. Why should senators have access to sensitive info, especially the Dem senators. Let's plug the dyke once and for all.

This, Leahy, Kerry....how come the democrats know all the classified CIA stuff? Who's telling them? The way Kerry outed that agent was so nonchalant, it's as if all this stuff is common knowledge among the left.

Fritz's investigation is being held up by Miller and "my friend hillary" Cooper. They're asking the full appellate court to reverse the criminal contempt order. Until Miller and Cooper talk, we wait.

This fits the classic Dem pattern... When a Dem accuses someone of something(ie. Rove) they are guilty of the same offense only 20 times worse. They only make a stink when they have something to hide.

Don't hold your breath waiting for the NY Times to report it. If they do, it will be on page A-17. No room above the fold on page 1 since the Rove story is permanently in place there.

I agree with you at #11; its frustrating as hell!

Your statement follows:

"The Republicans ALWAYS let these matters slide. I use to think it was because they always took the higher road, but now I'm not so sure they aren't worried about a tit-for-tat war starting. Nonetheless, What they haven't figured out, is that the dems will ALWAYS take the low road and with the msm being solidly in their court, the Pubbies better figure out soon to get serious really quick about the slime to destruction attitude and start fighting back asap."

This, Leahy, Kerry....how come the democrats know all the classified CIA stuff?

A certain amount of access is necessary for them to do their jobs.

Who's telling them?

This one was given to them through official channels. Few things are in the deep, deep ops portion of the budget, meaning Senators are told a certain amount of classified info so they can make purse string decisions about them. I think this "leak" was intentional, not accidental. It was a way for a tiny minority to determine policy, when a purse string strategy didn't work. IOW, they couldn't sell pulling funds from it just on it's cost, so made it less useful by blabbing about it.

The way Kerry outed that agent was so nonchalant, it's as if all this stuff is common knowledge among the left.

It's a Senate thing. Oversight of government agencies are another of their responsibilities. They need info about some of the inner workings of the agencies. It is supposed to prevent things like some top dog at State hiring his dim bulb mistress & putting her on a million dollar salary. Part of our "open" government is not open to the public, but open to others within government, in the hope that they will try to keep each other honest. Why are you laughing?

Fritz's investigation is being held up by Miller and "my friend hillary" Cooper. They're asking the full appellate court to reverse the criminal contempt order. Until Miller and Cooper talk, we wait.

I think Cooper spilled the beans, so we are only waiting on Miller.

"Boot them from the Senate and put them in prison!

Perhaps not so easy. Article 2, Section 6 of the Constitution reads...

They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.

For discussion.

If the Adminstration lacked the will to imprison a nothing like Sandy Berger, it certainly lacks the will to imprison these senators.

How true.
Is it possible that the DOJ is so full of dimz, that the only thing that they will do is investigate it to death? Plus the supposed Rs at the top have no b****.

It would be great to see the RATs get some of their own well-deserved medicine. However, seeing the banner on Fox&Friends this morning that said "Possible Perjury" and was kept up during the entire several minute segment they did on Rove, with plenty of Rove footage and pictures, I'm not gonna hold my breath.

BTW, you know I was without internet if I was watching Fox&Friends, especially with the weekend ditzes.

Hah!

Bob Beckel, Democratic strategist, said the DNC is saving money on the Roberts nomination and focusing that cash on Rove.

I remember a few weeks ago when a lot of people thought the Rove story was over. It clearly was not and in fact, it's intensifying.

The DNC will let it's unofficial wing try to take down Roberts. Moveon & NOW will man the front lines for this attack, while the party occasionally throws them a bit of red meat.

Meanwhile, the DNC (with the MSM) concentrates it's energy on dirtying up the administration. They think their best bet to get there goes through Rove. They know they may lose the battle of pulling the administration down, but the hope is to muddy the water enough to pull out some wins in 2006 & 2008. Watch the DNC discover "character" & "clean government".

The legislative bodies can place members outside of those protections, as Rostenkowski & Traficant discovered.

Actually it is Article I (not II), Section 6.

And all this is saying is that they cannot be arrexted while Congress is in session, it says nothing about afterward. And in any case, that is irrelevant, leaking classified information is a felony and they can be arrested for this at any time.

As far as not being questioned in "any other Place," that only applies if the offense occurs during a speech or debate in Congress, this offense didn't.

Well said. I too am not always sure why the GOP doesn't fight back a little more which is disappointing sometimes, though I do like the idea that they don't often lower themselves to such childish antics like the rats. But your right, the Rats will ALWAYS take the low road, of that we can be sure.

According to the full article, the first satellite from this program was launched in 1990; If the program was designed to address a no-longer-relevant threat and its costs have mushroomed, then I would expect senators from both sides to have an interest in curbing it. That being said, it does not excuse them from leaking, unless this knowledge was already in the public domain...IMHO

Would one of you be so kind as to use the Dose ping list and ping our Dosers.

I've been waiting for this to break.

I'd also like to see charges against Sen. Kerry for releasing the name of a currently-undercover CIA agent on the floor of Congress, earlier this year.

I'm also holding my breath, waiting for severe charges to be levied against Sandy Burglar for the mishandling of highly classified information - including the destruction and mishandling of multiple pages of "highly sensitive information", to the point where it is completely missing from the National Archives, a felony which is supposed to be punishable by $10,000 fine or 10 years in prison for EACH offense" as in EVERY page!!!

Thanks to whomever does the ping. I think most of us would like to follow up on this, since there has been such a whoo-hah over the Plame/Rove thing. Hmmm, why do I think this will disappear and the press won't bother to cover it?

The next time the Rats open their mouths about Rove, the Republicans had better use this information.

The Rats knew this was coming since Dec 2004. The current Rove stuff is their way of insulating themselves against a very serious leak charge, by making a big deal about a very minor leak charge
