Sure, use more cameras.
They did a great job in London.
But they do make the police state advocates feel better.

London which is a CCTV dream world, has had two bombings in about two weeks time. The cameras have not stopped the bombers...so we need cameras to stop bombers here...now that is real good thinking.

It's just more feel good BS. They are trying to convince the masses that camera's will protect them. London is surveiled and it didn't stop the bombers. The camera's are meaningless in the fight against the Islamofascists.

cameras wont stop them but it will give the cops the perps PHOTOGRAPH

man, some of you need to quit the crybaby act

Notice that nowhere does the article substantiate the headline. No figures are offered that prove "pressure is building" for more cameras. Some mayor and the head of a security firm are quoted. And that's what passes for evidence.

This is base propaganda, not news.

Somebody wants to toss the idea out there to see what the response is, probably.

The fact is, more cameras won't do squat. London is covered in cameras, and it has failed to stop the same two types of incidents, two weeks apart.

Keep an eye on this issue, the only thing the article was right about, was that people are getting used to them. You watch, the security industry will lobby for this, and the politicians will do what they ask, and you'll start seeing more and more of them pop up.

so the cops have a DEAD perps picture. Big deal. It will not five them any info. The Muslim Brotherhood is very compartmentalized. The actual assasins wait for an assignment and then carry it out.

And if you oppose the move, you'll be eyed suspiciously. "If you've got nothing to hide ..."

Surprisingly enough, we've got people here at FR that believe that you shouldn't worry if you have nothing to hide. I don't know how the leftists/statists got through to them (or maybe they were just never Conservatives in the first place).

Like you said, you'll be eyed suspiciously. If your a high-profile person (politician, whatever), speaking out against these types of things, I'm sure the media will help make you out to be "suspicious".

Yeah, I've seen that same thing. It's not altogether unexpected, though.

The fierce sense of privacy many Americans have is more of a libertarian ideal than a conservative one. There is something of the fascist in the right wing, something that says it's all right for the individual to disappear into the collective. To the libertarian, the individual is All.

And there is a strong libertarian presence on FR, just as there is a strong lock-step conservative presence. Witness some of the George Bush apologist threads.

Your sure about that are you? I heard the British wanted to question these people (in photo's) concerning the latest attack. Hadn't heard they had already established a clear linkage.
