Agreed. The Will Ferrell character, a 40+ year old living at home with his mom and trolling obituaries for dates, is hilarious and sobering at the same time. "I don't want to judge you, because you're an innovator . . ."
He's only on screen for about ten seconds, and doesn't have a speaking line (James Carville does, but it's distantly miked).
It's for adults only, but the film is utterly hilarious.
"So, I guess you can't understand why some of the military are protesting this movie. Right?"
I do understand, because they are not getting the whole picture.
Any thinking vet that actually sees the movie will be happy, just as they are happy when John Kerry was exposed as a fraud and a liar.
"The lone homosexual is a complete freakjob"
And man, does it make for some hilarious scenes.
Yup. Made me wonder if Hollywood is trying to hedge its bets.
You get the feeling that lots of FReepers would simply replace current PC with their own?
A sense of irony and humor.... don't leave home without it.
I haven't seen the movie, do you think it could be a subtle jab at Kerry's questionable purple hearts and chasing rich women?
The vets are overreacting. It is a paper purple heart.
Nobody would believe it is real. It is disgusting to pretend to have a purple heart, but not to cut out a paper one.
Limo liberals THRIVE on the publicity. Thye think that they are just swell.
They simply don't see it as mockery; publicity for their faces and names, yes, mockery, no. They are in denial. THEY will remark that THEY are in the limos....enough for them.
Fame, status and money (power, in many cases) = their morality.
They really believe that fame and notoriety are the same.
They really believe that there is "status" in being a porn "star" or getting a part in a movie or on T.V.
Money makes it all correct and worth it. Money itself gives "fame" and "status." Money, after all, is power.
I will have to see it. I got two free passes I will have to use up before I go to college again later in August (since it is only for a specific theater brand).
It is too late to see War of the Worlds, so I have to see something else, and the only thing interesting right now is Wedding Crashers.
I enjoy Vaughn.
" I haven't seen the movie, do you think it could be a subtle jab at Kerry's questionable purple hearts and chasing rich women?"
I don't think there was any subtlety to it, especially the loser fiance fake liberal.
The other posters are correct. He was in a crowd scene to lend credence to the idea that the wedding was a big Washington Shindig.
Okay, I'll buy it.
LOL - The only 'crasher' we'be been concerned about at a child's wedding is an ex spouse!
I know. I love that guy. He makes any movie hilarious.
Yep, and I forgot that the father-of-the-brides is a relatively normal, extremely intelligent and apparently wise person who loves his daughters and wants them to be happy.
(The weak link in the parents' marriage appeared to be the mother, to me.)
This was hardly the normal dad-is-so-stupid character.
so do you recommend it?
It's a movie for adults, of course.
I laughed quite a bit.
