People who "spit hate" at the British way of life should be deported, Tory former Prime Minister John Major said.
Mr Major spoke of the "uncomfortable reality" that many terrorists were born or lived in the UK but had been taught to hate its culture.
"There seem to be many people who, for reasons that are irrational, dislike the Anglo-Saxon way of life," he said.
He called for heavier penalties for those who incited violence at this "particularly sensitive time".
"Always difficult to balance this against freedom of speech but I think, at the moment, it is justifiable to protect the public," he argued.
Mr Major added: "As far as those who literally spit hate at our country and there are some of them - they spit hate at our country and they incite - I personally would be prepared to deport those where it is clear that what they are doing is causing civil unrest and may cost other people, as a result of that, their lives."
He also called for more CCTV cameras to deter the threat and the use of intercept evidence in courts. Interviewed on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme, Mr Major urged the Government to consult widely over new anti-terror legislation.

Churchill knew Islam was poison to civilization long ago.
Aye...
We ALL know exactly where cultural jihad stands.
I picked up on that with one of his "you must be a racist if you don't support illegal immigration" kind of posts. He/she likes to attempt to intimidate with contemptuous replies, but screams "racist" when one returns a reply of equivalent contempt. There is also another one who posts an avatar of a suit of armor and the battle cry of the Knights Templar along with his post. What a hoot! It's a wonder his mother lets him out of his room (or not)?
Be-that-as-it-may, I think that they all came from the dark side of the moon and will, one day, grow tired of their Crusade for the Illegals and extreme tolerance for extreme Islamists.
No, there were just communists, whose politics is a religion similar extreme to Islam, who promised to "bury our children" in a speech in the UN. You like the UN, don't you, Jihad.
nor were there any Congressmen calling for the annihilation of Orthodox holy sites,..
I believe that "B-1" Bob Dornan was willing to blow up just about anything that had to do with communisim and communists, orthodox or not.
nor any keyboard commando yahoos saying that all Orthodox are evil and how they all need to be killed.
There was not a public Internet at the time, so that charge is one of your usual red herrings. However, had there been one, "keyboard commando yahoos", such as yourself, would have been apologizing for the deficiencies of socialism.
There is actually a precedent in English history for the deportation of an entire race or group of people. In 1290 an Act of the King in Council was approved that required the expulsion of all Jews. It was enacted on July 18th and the county sheriffs were required to make sure that all Jews had departed by November 1st. The total number of Jews that left were about 16,000. There is no record any significant number of Jews who remained in England. In 1655, Oliver Cromwell allowed the Jews to return, subject to good behavior, but the prior expulsion law was never repealed. It was not until 1753 that Parliament enacted the Jew Bill under which Jews were permitted to become naturalized citizens. Under the present British system of government, the House of Commons would have to pass a bill ordering a general Muslim expulsion or deportation. It would then have to be approved by the House of Lords, and finally it would have to receive the Royal Assent from the Queen before it could become effective. It is unlikely that the present Labour Party would move such a bill, since their ability to remain in power depends, in part, on continuing to receive Muslim votes.
i was not really referring to a wholesale deportation of Muslims, but simply the deportation of radical Imams who call for terror attacks or threaten public officials. That particular Imam comes to mind, who Britons want out, but the administration says that their hands are tied because of "civil rights laws" (bans the deportation of someone who might conceivably face torture in their home country...this Imam in question is Syrian). Blair does not have executive authority to deport a single Imam?
"JOHN MAJOR IS GIVING PROPAGANDA POINTS TO THE ENEMY!!!!!!!!!"
Speak up, Mr. Major. Speak loud and speak often.

In Spain, the last Muslim stronghold of Greneda was taken in 1492. The Moors were forced to convert to Christianity or leave. The Moors who stayed were called Moriscons. They continued to create problems for Spain, and eventually were banished around 1600. At this time, Cervantes wrote Don Quixote . The character Ricote, a Moriscon, discusses their fate:...I knew of the base and extravagant designs which our people harboured, designs of such a nature that I think it was a divine inspiration that moved his Majesty to carry out a resolution so spirited; not that we were all guilty, for some there were true and steadfast Christians; but they were so few that they could make no head against those who were not; and it was not prudent to cherish a viper in the bosom by having enemies in the house. In short it was with just cause that we were visited with the penalty of banishment, a mild and lenient one in the eyes of some, but to us the most terrible that could be inflicted upon us. True then, true now."
This is fascinating. Can I get the precise source of this?
Imagine that. The UK has let enough into the country so that they no longer have the ability to democratically address the threat.
Has America reached that point?
Well sure. I provided a link to the Don Quixote quote in my post, the paragraph I referenced starts with "Thou knowest well
As to the history of the Moriscos, and their eventual expulsion from Spain, see the Wickipedia entry. Check out a useful timeline as well. The word Morisco in Google will also give you all you can ask for.
In history you can find all sorts of examples of Muslims being at best problematic as a minority. It is more difficult to find instances of Muslims as a peaceful, co-existant minority.
If we haven't, we're well on the way.
I don't think you read the whole speech, did you? You just skimmed it to see if you could find a way to attack a hardliner American.
He specifically was referring to those who attack the Anglo-Saxon way of life in England. You do that here on a regular basis, so the label fits you.
"There seem to be many people who, for reasons that are irrational, dislike the Anglo-Saxon way of life..." --John Major speaking about (people like Cultural) Jihad
None of us like what we see.
Couldn't be any clearer, could it.
Mass deportations are the only logical alternative until someone discovers a fool proof method of distinguishing "The "Good Alien" from "The Bad Alien."
Your buddy rod seems to have disappeared.
It might motivate them to help us, who knows? But until then, round 'em up, roll 'em out, rawhide!
