CAIR's Attacks On Conservative Talk Show Host Continue
The Washington Post ^ | July 26, 2005 | Paul Farhi

Posted on 07/26/2005 2:42:49 AM PDT by suspects

A local radio talk show host touched off complaints from an Islamic civil rights organization yesterday after repeatedly describing Islam on the air as "a terrorist organization" that is "at war with America."

The organization, the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), asked the station to take disciplinary action against Michael Graham, who hosts WMAL-AM's late-morning call-in program.

Michael Graham said Islam is a "terrorist" group.

A station executive, Randall Bloomquist, said yesterday that Graham's comments were "amped up" but justified within the context of the program. He said the station, which is owned by the Walt Disney Co., had no plans to reprimand Graham.

The show host touched off the flap during a discussion of the Muslim community's response to recent acts of terrorism. Graham suggested the fault lies with Muslims generally because religious leaders and followers haven't done enough to condemn and root out extreme elements. "The problem is not extremism," Graham said, according to both CAIR and the station. "The problem is Islam." He also said, "We are at war with a terrorist organization named Islam."

Perhaps they'll eventually figure out this is not Saudi Arabia and people are (shock!) allowed to broadcast opinions CAIR doesn't like.

I inserted the missing 'not'.

Has CAIR ever asked for "disciplinary actions" against the terrorists?

Thanks Michael.

We need brave people to take a public stand.

I don't have to tell you that you are now in danger.

Please take steps to take care of yourself.

FRegards.

Guess things won't be so sleepy this summer in Washington.

What I find interesting is that CAIR National Headquarters is one block from DNC Headquarters, diagonally across the street from the Capitol Hill interns apartment and directly across the street from the power station that serves Capitol Hill.

You GO!

Please consider putting a weblink to your show on your homepage (if there is one). Many people here will listen.

Islam is a destructive and dangerous political ideology.

We should have exactly as much tolerance for it as we have for Nazism.

In fact, the similarities between these two political ideologies are overwhelming.

Your analogy is unassailable:

"If the Boy Scouts of America had 1,000 Scout troops, and 10 of them practiced suicide bombings, then the BSA would be considered a terrorist organization. If the BSA refused to kick out those 10 troops, that would make the case even stronger. If people defending terror repeatedly turned to the Boy Scout handbook and found language that justified and defended murder --and the scoutmasters responded by saying 'Could be' -- the Boy Scouts would have been driven out of America long ago. "

Michael, if the station starts twisting your arm, consider changing your tactics to "Islam preaches hate and condones and/or excuses violence in the name of Islam." There's plenty of factual, open-source material out there to support that, on FR, Memri and Jihad Watch, just to name a few. It's not as if they try to hide it -- Britain's a good example.

Good job Michael!
Anyone who refuses to believe that Islam is a terrorist religion has his/her head in the sand. Wake up people! These people are murderous rats who hide behind a "religion" that they claim is peaceful...boloney!
We need to exterminate these rats!

Michael, you can add me to your list of new listeners!

"Today, Islam has whole sects and huge mosques that preach terror. Its theology is openly used to give the murderers their motives. Millions of its members give these killers comfort. The question isn't how dare I call Islam a terrorist organization, but rather why more people do not."

The man has a point...

Good for Mr. Graham, he puts the onus where it should be, on the machinations of modern islam, unl;ike a loudmouth congressman(tancredo) who goes down to the level of rhetoric of the jihadists, and giving them propaganda points.

What is the difference between the KKK and Islam? Nothing, they are the same except one claims Christianity and the other Islam. Why don't they attack the Islamofacists like they (the PC crowd) have the KKK?

Just compare the two, the KKK and Islam, both are extreme hate groups.

I was only able to catch to radio talk shows yesterday, one local, the other was Boortz. Both interviewed what sounded like the same Muslim man and they both used the same talking points... comparing the linking of Muslim extremists to Islam to linking the IRA to the Catholic Church. They both expressed that Muslims are peaceful and wouldn't kill anyone (like the quote this weekend out of Egypt).

I tried to call the local show when it was airing but inexplicably the number didn't work...

I only point this out because they seem to be on a full-court media blitz complete with talking points.
