U.S. and Iraqi forces have killed or arrested more than 50,000 Iraqi insurgents in the past seven months, a former top general who has headed repeated Pentagon assessment missions to Iraq said yesterday. Gen. Jack Keane, a former deputy chief of staff for the Army, also said the United States has a good picture of the leadership of the vicious insurgency but less of an idea about its mid- and lower-level ranks.
"We know who they are," he told a lunch gathering sponsored by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. He said the eight to 10 leaders "occasionally meet -- we've recorded that -- not just in Iraq, but in Jordan and Syria." Gen. Keane's remarks provided a rare insight into the extent of U.S.-led operations against an insurgency that has been responsible for hundreds of deaths in the past few weeks alone.
Pentagon officials previously had been quoted as saying 15,000 to 16,000 Iraqis were in custody in Iraq, but spokesman Lawrence DiRita was unable to comment last night on the 50,000 figure offered by the general. "I would highly doubt that anyone has a good handle on the numbers," he said. "I'm not aware of what General Keane has been told, but I know of no number that has been provided to the secretary, briefed by the commanders, or is being tracked by anyone."
Gen. Keane, noting that the numbers probably were higher now, said, "In the past six to seven months, we have killed or captured 50,000 insurgents."

Well the American Public will like to hear progress in what's happening in Iraq.
If they could also capture an equal amount of paramilitary gang members within our own borders, on our soil, terrorizing the city of Los Angeles, for example (about 50,000) then we might be really getting somewhere as a nation.
Yes they would like to hear, unfortunately the liberal lunatic media will not sound the call as is, it will be perverted, distorted, and flooded with deception about what is really going on.

What if the people in Durban's state sent him this news item and noted that he was abetting the war criminals in Iraq, the Insurgents.
This report shown below from Amnesty Internation is incredible. It should be used by our side to warn the pro Jihadist leftwingers in America, they are aiding and abetting war criminals with their words and actions. Maybe someday they will be sent to Iraq for war crimes against the innocent Iraqi civilians.:

Iraqi insurgents are committing war crimes that undermine any claim they may have to be fighting a legitimate cause, Amnesty International says.
A report by the UK-based group accuses anti-US forces in Iraq of showing "utter disdain for civilian life".
It says there can be no justification for deliberate killings of civilians, hostage-taking and torture.
The perpetrators "place themselves totally beyond the pale of acceptable behaviour", Amnesty International said.
"There is no honour nor heroism in blowing up people going to pray or murdering a terrified hostage," the 56-page report entitled Iraq, In Cold Blood: Abuses by Armed Groups says.
"Those carrying out such acts are criminals, nothing less, whose actions undermine any claim they may have to be pursuing a legitimate cause."

Amnesty acknowledges that many Iraqi citizens agree with the aims of the insurgency, to rid their country of the US-led military presence.
The principal victims are ordinary Iraqi men, women and children attempting peacefully to go about their everyday lives.

It also stresses that the US and allies have themselves committed grave violations, including killings of civilians and torture of prisoners. "But abuses committed by one side do not and cannot justify abuses by another," the rights group says."
"This is all the more the case when the principal victims are ordinary Iraqi men, women and children attempting peacefully to go about their everyday lives."
Researchers quote an Iraqi government minister's claim that more than 6,000 civilians have died in insurgency attacks, although the report says the true toll is impossible to calculate, let alone the long-term consequences.
"We urge armed groups to immediately cease all attacks against civilians and all other abuses," Amnesty says.
"Armed groups, like other parties to the conflict in Iraq, are required to comply strictly with international law in all their acts and remain accountable for their actions."
Amnesty International asks religious leaders and other influential figures to make a stand against war crimes and crimes against humanity.
"We earnestly hope that these leaders, by speaking out publicly or through other more discreet means, can help to make the difference," Amnesty says.

Good start.
Six months ago they were saying there were only 20,000 insurgents in the country, now they're saying we've captured or killed more than twice that many. If the original figure had been correct, the insurgency would now be over.

If one can connect some dots between the $oreA$$ phoney non profits and $'s to these libs abetting the war criminal insurgents in Iraq. Things might get very messy for these abettors like Durbin.

The Iraqis themselves in a year or so can declare these abettors as war criminals and ask for the various countries to arrest them and send them to Iraq.

That appears to be the thinking of these that seek to prevent the Iraqis from becoming a civilized place. So long as these terrorists killers, political counterparts (our liberals) continue sounding the clarion call to join the war, it may well take a whole lot longer than a year for the Iraqis to govern.

You nailed that.
However, if the Iraqis continue to get things in order and produce and sell a lot of oil, they can form their justice groups to investigate linkage of the war criminals to foriegners. Then they can replicate what Israel did with the Nazi Supporters and War Criminals did. They can hunt them down and arrest them around the world for trial as war criminals.
