The Blair witch-hunt
The News, Pakistan (Opinion) ^ | 27 July | Dr Abdul-Wajid

British Prime Minister Tony Blair's July 16 keynote speech about the London bombings contained sweeping generalisations that have laid the foundation of a paranoid witch hunt against Muslims, much like McCarthyism's witch-hunts against communist ideologues in America during the fifties. Whilst calling for the eradication of an "evil ideology," Blair blurred the lines between legitimate grievances against Western double standards towards the Muslim World and the crime of killing innocent civilians. As such, Blair is exploiting one injustice to perpetrate another -- a carte blanche to persecute Muslims for their political beliefs. Furthermore, how can Britain, or indeed the West in general, be expected to settle Muslim disputes if it is blind to Muslim grievances?

Furthermore, Mr Blair unconditionally condemned the call for "one caliphate of all Muslim nations," criminalising the Islamic ruling system that establishes unity between the Muslim peoples, regardless of their race, language or school of thought. Indeed, Prophet Muhammad (May peace be upon him) established a rule in which the Muslim peoples were unified as one people with no borders between them, mobilising their immense combined resources to establish Islam as a beacon of light for all of humankind. Subsequently, the Caliphate expanded to embrace many ethnically diverse populations, such as the Arabs, Persians, Romans and Africans. Moreover, whilst attacking the Caliphate as a system of government, Blair had nothing to say of the plague of Western-backed Muslim kings and dictators that have maintained the colonialist plan to weaken the Muslim world through carving it into many nation states, as per the Anglo-French "Sykes-Picot pact" of World War one. Yet, even the Lord Mayor of London itself, Ken Livingstone, attacked Western policy towards Muslim regimes, since the destruction of the Caliphate some eighty years ago. On 20 July, Mr. Livingstone said, "You've just had 80 years of Western intervention into predominantly Arab lands because of a Western need for oil. We've propped up unsavoury governments."

I don't see Jews or Americans on that list.

Like McCarthy... THEN they ARE witches then...
The decision is out though on whether Blair is a warlock or witch..
The boy seems a light in his loafers if you know what I mean..

Sounds like a "one world order" established as a theocracy under Muslim control...

Frightening.

If the complainer has a more targeted approach to root out terrorists and their enablers, I am sure Blair will be most interested. But root them out is his job. Britain does not equal Pakistan. Deal with it.

When I hear about Muslims turning in Muslim bombers after, but preferably before they do their dirty work, I'll start believing that the Muslim community is on our side. It's pretty clear that the people doing this stuff aren't the sharpest tools in the drawer, so I imagine there are clues if people start looking for them. (For example, now that people know that paint thinner and peroxide can be combined to make a bomb, large purchases of either -- especially by Muslims -- should start drawing serious attention.)
