Newsweek Drops Issue, Cites Poor Ad Sales

Newsweek Drops Issue, Cites Poor Ad Sales

Due to low ad pages during late summer, Newsweek is trimming the number of issues it publishes by one, opting for a double issue dated Aug. 29-Sept. 5, Mediaweek reports.

Through July 19, Newsweek's ad pages have fallen 15.6 percent this year, to 970. It's not alone. A lack of spending in the technology and automotive sectors has hurt the whole newsweekly category with ad pages falling 10.5 percent, to 6,332 through July 19.

EXCELLENT!

I hope its because all the antiAmerican barf they have been writing lately.

I pray that both the advertisers and readership is getting fed up enough to just leave it there and let it whither. Sorta like PMSNBC.com. They have been/are much worse than CNN ever thought of.

The thing is .... they list all kinds of reasons except the fact that the majority of Americans are SICK of this anti-American rhetoric and are silently boycotting.  Yet, how do they explain the fact that the ratings for FOXnews and Rush are doing well?

Due to low ad pages during late summer

Yes, but what are the "low ad pages" due to? Let's not BS ourselves now, Newsweak.

Through July 19, Newsweek's ad pages have fallen 15.6 percent this year

That's pretty darn bad. I hope you go under, suckers.

love,

The LA Times is also having problems.

Yeah, and the best news out in La-La-Land is that the LA Times is dropping that puke Michael Kinsley from the head editorial position (although Mikey will stay on board like the good leftist he is)

I still maintain that there is something very screwed up in this universe when a good, decent patriotic journalist like Michael Kelly has to die in the sands of Iraq while imbedded with U.S. troops, while a far-left whining POS like Kinsley continues to breathe oxygen.

It's true: Life Ain't Fair.

Hey Newsweek,

If you didn't do that issue that caused unnecessary riots in the Muslim world (among a lot of other miscues) you wouldn't be in the predicament you are in now. The two annual reports done by the Project for Excellence in Journalism show that Americans ARE rapidly tiring of the extreme liberal bias of the mainstream media and are going to alternate sources en masse.

In short, we have no sympathy for your problems and frankly, you need to Shut Up 2

Actually, all printed news is having a major problem. I'd love to blame it on the liberal left media, and I'm sure that is a partial factor, but print publications cannot compete with the Internet.
