In the first four years of the Bush administration, the Republicans did increase government spending at the fastest rate since the Lyndon Johnson administration. Bush did give us the largest expansion of Medicare since it originated with the Medicare prescription drug plan. Absolutely nothing is being done about illegal immigration.

Yet the US deficit in Clinton's first term increased $1.2 trillion. In Bush's first term the increase is $1.3 trillion. In percentage terms it's less.
