FURIOUS townspeople hacked a man to death after he shot and killed nine persons and slit the throat of his 10-month-old nephew in south-western Mexico, officials said overnight.
The man, identified as Oscar Junior Flores Lopez, 22, went on a shooting rampage late on Saturday in San Jeronimo de Juarez, a town of 15,000 near the popular resort of Acapulco in south-western Mexico, after killing his nephew, police said.
He killed 10 people and wounded two others, police officer Raul Arias said.
"He was later taken to a hospital where he died because of machete blows from residents trying to detain him," said the police officer.
"The mother of the shooter called municipal police when he attacked her 10- month-old nephew, whose throat he slit when police arrived," Arias said.
When police arrived, the man stabbed an officer, snatched a police rifle and then "killed everything in his path in his escape", he said.
The dead included the parents of a three-year-old girl who was wounded in the attack.
Arias said the man appeared to be drunk, while a local official said he could also have been under the influence of drugs.
"He may have been a former soldier, because he knew about weapons and had previous incidents in which he killed two persons in another town and fled north (to the US) and had just returned," San Jeronimo city hall spokeswoman Teresa Gonzalez said.
I guess we should be thankful he decided to stroll back across our wide open border with Mexico.
I'm just thankful he is no more.
I guess they won't be crossing the border.
Their police don't seem well trained to do anything but take bribes.
What a living hell that country is.
This sort of vigilante justice tends to happen "south of the border" from time to time. Seems the people get enraged at murderers and take things into their own hands, knowing that the perp won't get the death penalty, and, even if convicted, will be let loose in only a few years.
Maybe the "victim"
lived in a nearby castle
and scared the townsfolk . . .
It's not intelligent and it's always too late... but the problem is eliminated.
Oh no!!! The do gooders at the ACLU were going to set up a defense lawyer dream team for him.
Sob.
Well, maybe there's somebody we can sue...
I wonder if he killed anyone on this side of the border? Glad his neighbors took the law into their own hands, exempting him from a quick bribe-and-walk to the federales, but since he's dead, we may never know.
In the US, the custom is to sacrifice large numbers of innocent children to Molech, while we let most criminals live.
It's obvious Mexicans are displeased that their nation has no death penalty.
The people should be that fed up with their government down there.
I didn't see anything! ...I was at home...asleep...
with a action adventure movie on TV...i thought it
was just the TV banditos firing away and just fell
back asleep...and maybe it was...i did not look at the clock... Everybody i know was watching that movie...
perhaps they were playing cards, and didn't see anything
or anybody either, Senor Federale....But i must go now.
..okay?
...and the people of the town lived happily ever after.
My thoughts exactly. Come to think of it, how the hell did we get stuck with such crappy neighbors? Oh cruel geography! Thou mockest America so.
I didn't give you a PC answer, but it is the honest one.
PS, Mexican isn't a race...it's a nationality, for any of the La Raza idiots reading here.
You're thinking of Haiti, not Mexico.
Yep, you know for sure that he will never do it again.
Such is my case for the Death Penalty.
The first Mexican arrived about nine months after Cortes landed in Veracruz, if you catch my drift.
Exactly, and today that Mexican population who are the raped children of the Indians by the Spanish still control and some say enslave the Indian population in that country.
They are not nice down there, and they shoot people coming up from their southern border as well. Yet, they won't send murderers up here for trial! HAH
1. This may be one case where vigilante justice is, uh, justified.
2. California's main problem politically is that is is ruled by white liberals, the conservatives having largely moved to the rocky mountain states.

"It was an accident. He tripped and fell on my machete. He then got up, tripped and fell on Juan's machete. He then got up, tripped and fell on Manuel's machete. He then got up, tripped and fell ..."
Poor America. So far from God, so close to Mexico...
"FURIOUS townspeople hacked a man to death after he shot and killed nine persons and slit the throat of his 10-month-old nephew in south-western Mexico."
Did the furious townspeople slit the nephew's throat or did the man slit his own nephew's throat? I know the answer, but wanted to note how poorly the first line was written.
Yeah.
A machete will certainly slow down the escape.
There's detaining, and there's DETAINING.
Great minds.......
You got that right. I had to read it a couple of times myself because it seemed strange that the townspeople would kill a 10 month old of a murderer.
