Seems pretty obvious what Osama is up to. Of course, unlike Hiroshima, the victim has the capacity to dish out more than it takes. If Osama blows up DC, for example, then the entire Muslim world could be wiped off the map in 5 minutes.

I doubt we would have the political will for that, even then.

It would also spell disaster for President Bush and the GOP if it should occur.

If and when it happens, the borders will be sealed and the gnashing of teeth will start about "when did you know it and why wasn't anything done to protect us..."?

And of course, that would be an excellent question.

Poltical correctness will defeat the USA.

I don't know. If literally LA or NY was gone in a flash with millions dead there would be no limit to our rage. Any politician that proposed anything less than total annihilation would be run out on a rail.

Think hard Osama. Taking out Afghanistan and Iraq was playing nice. When you hear the call for Americans to immediately return home start digging deep...

Simply because it is a waste of resources. It is impossible to effectively seal our borders. There are thousands of miles of rugged unsecured border with Canada and thousands of miles of coast line not to mention thousands of shipping containers entering our country everyday. Anyone seriously wanting to get in can. We can't win the war here. We have to win it there.

Anyone seriously wanting to get in can. We can't win the war here. We have to win it there.

And we have to continue to fight it there, or it will come here. This is the truth of Iraq that the American people do not understand. As long as there is a galvanization point overseas, the al Qaeda efforts will be concentrated there. Hence for the foreseeable future, in fact decades to come, we will have a very proactive military presence in the middle east... regardless of who is the party in power.

No disaster for the GOP. You just eliminated the main Democratic bases in the big two Democratic states as well as much of their fundraising base and thier media whores. No loss to the GOP there. Also, the final taps to political correctness. Of course, it would not be worth it for us.

It is impossible to effectively seal our borders.

Only if 'effectively' by your definitions is 100%. We've effectively built hundreds of thousands of miles of concrete interstate highway and created an electric power grid for this nation; we can build a tough double wall with an electrified inner fence section plus electronically monitor activity.

Will it be 100%, no, but it will sure as hell slow down the criminal activity element.

As one previous post and the article referred to, this is all about CRF, Trilateral Commission, global economy, global government, 'supporting the cause', and most important, Revelations. Don't kid yourself, it's coming.

While looking for something completely unrelated over the weekend I found a story about some people near Atlanta. According to this story a couple people in that general area have had this dream that they were in some underground shopping center in Atlanta. I don't know if there is one there, I have never been there. According to this story there is a nuclear explosion in Atlanta that wipes out CNN etc. I don't put stories about dreams on my favorites so I don't have a link, sorry. It also said that all of those people who had that dream actually moved immediately. It just struck me as interesting but I don't put much stock into it.

The list is based on where most American Jews live.

This article really reminds me of that report, in the early hours of the tube bombings, that Ben. Netyahoo had an early warning of the impending attack. A report that was quickly discounted later that day.

So here, we have the Sum of all Fears article, by a Christian, which directly points to the reason for 'American Hiroshima'.

And now, I, if I am not analyzing, am faced with a reaction: how should I feel about the Jews,as specifically implied by this article, who are the, what, cause, source, genesis, reason, ... for this threat?

But, I am analyzing (and granted, maybe not effectively). And I find this article, like that tube report, to be just about a fool-proof way to fuel antisemitism. Why are reports appearing?

I am puzzled ... why are more and more articles and reports which seem to be pre-designed to generate antisemitism appearing w/ greater frequency?

Because to me, this article seems to have only two possible purposes: actually warn us of a real threat, or make us have terrible feelings about Jews. Frankly, I think it is the latter.

And given the outright admission he is a Christian, I wonder what, in the end, this article is meant to generate with regards to feelings about ... Christians.

I'd love to have an alternative train of thought here ... for this article was REALLY depressing.

I seriously doubt Al Qaeda has access to actual nuclear bombs and I have always had doubts about the veracity of the stories of Russian nukes long hidden on US soil.

However, Al Qaeda does have the capability of making and delivering "dirty bombs" conventional high explosive devices laced with radioactive isotopes, that could readily accomplish their aim of sowing terror in the US. HBO has recently broadcast a chilling British TV movie called "The Dirty War" about Islamic terrorists detonating such a dirty bomb in London. That scenario is far more plausible than Al Qaeda detonating hidden Russian nukes.

Yes, it was a depressing article, but I would respectfully disagree with you about the article potentially having an undercurrent of antisemitism. In fact, I took it just the opposite. It seems to me Farrah is suggesting that Jewish people are being targeted. Arab Jews are being discriminated against. I hold that both Jew and Christian are in the exact same boat in this vast struggle against this very present evil. Trust me, my friend, we are indeed in this together more closely than you might imagine.

Bush is a globalist. His pal V. Fox spilled the beans. "Mexico, the United States, and Canada, will unite under one umbrella, with U.S. wages falling to meet Mexico's rising wages".

No one will connect the dots and realize that V. Fox would not be shooting his mouth off unless it had already been discussed and agreed to.

As far as this article goes, be very afraid. Especially now that Muslims in America are beginning to decry terrorism. They admit that this declaration has alot to do with Muslims being afraid of retaliation should there be another major attack on the USofA.

The very issuance of this declaration makes me believe there is something in the air in the Muslim community.

Well, aug 6 is just a few days away, and I am pretty sure I'm going to wake up on Aug 7 and discover that .... yep, time to go to work again and then end the day on a golf course, once again contemplating the timing of certain media reports inbetween golf shots. Mostly though, I'll report in advance that the majority of my thoughts will be not be in words, but the images of geophysical beauty of moving white against constant blue, and then ... green.

But, I'll agree with you at the least that we do indeed share a common ark. Someday, a common understanding of what covenant means will be shared too ...

I hope I'm wrong about the undercurrents. But, I'm doubtful.

Here's the whole Atlanta-psychic story. I wouldn't exactly put my house on the market based upon this...

"Today I received this one in my mail:

A number of American psychics, including a few who are born-again Christians, claim to have received angelic warnings about a terrorist attack here in the USA. Nearly all of them claim the target will be Atlanta, Georgia.
Tom and Vicky Hinton, both evangelical Christians, reported that in early June 2005 they spoke with another member of their church, who had received disturbing warnings in a dream.

"We live in Georgia about 40 miles (64 kilometers) below Atlanta," Vicky Hinton reported, "My husband had a dream about two years ago about bombs hitting Atlanta. Three days ago, early in the morning at 4 a.m., our friend was awakened. He looked up and there was a light in the room next to the wall, at the other end of his bed. Then, suddenly, an angel stepped out of the light. He called our friend by name as he pulled his sword from its sheath. He said he could hear the metal scraping the sheath as he pulled it out."

"The angel then said, 'The Lord God has put it into your heart to move from this place, and you are to tell your family to move because the Lord is bringing the sword to this city.' He also said our friend 'must leave soon.' The angel repeated these instructions twice. Then he stepped back into the light and just disappeared."

Another "Christian brother" in Thomaston, Georgia (population 9,411) received a similar warning. "The brother had the urge to move to another state and begin missionary work for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. But his wife did not want to go. So he fasted for three days and prayed in Jesus' name for guidance. Then he heard the voice of the Lord telling him, "Gather up your family and move. Much destruction is coming to Atlanta. Leave and leave soon. Shake the red dust of Georgia from your feet as a testimony against it.'"

"The brother told his wife, and she absolutely refused to believe it. So he took to praying again. The Lord told him to open the Bible and point out Genesis 19:26."

(Editor's Note: The story of Lot's wife and the destruction of Sodom.)

"Still she wouldn't believe it. She said she would move 'when I receive a telegram from the Almighty.'"

"The next day, when the wife went to open the mailbox, she found a yellow telegram from Western Union addressed to her. She opened it up and read it. The message said, 'Move your fat ass.' There was no signature."

"When her husband came home, she lit right into him, asking if he thought this was some kind of joke. The Christian brother denied sending the telegram. When they made enquiries, they found that the mailman had never delivered the telegram to their box, and Western Union had no record of any such telegram ever being sent. The brother is packing, but his wife doesn't know what to think."

Curtis McDiamird of Atlanta had a horrifying dream two weeks ago. Curtis said he had dreamed that he and his father were spending the day walking around Underground Atlanta, a shopping center at the intersection of Pryor and Alabama Streets. Suddenly, the concrete floor began shaking beneath their feet.

"When we came up, everything in Atlanta had been destroyed," he reported, "There were ruins all around us. The Fulton County Courthouse--gone. The Coca-Cola Pavilion--gone. I could see all the way to Spring Street. The Federal Building was a burned-out spire. Dad lost it. He just kept looking around and babbling, 'Oh, man, we're fucked. We're fucked! Fucka-ducka-dood!' Then I heard a voice telling me, 'You must leave Atlanta and be gone by July.' That's when I woke up."

The most horrifying dream, however, came from South Dakota. A Lakota (also known as Sioux Indian--J.T.) spiritual advisor dreamed that he was standing on a ridge overlooking the White River on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota on a summer day. It was hot with a cloudless blue sky.

"Looking down, Charlie saw a long, long railroad train moving west. There were over a hundred flatcars, and they were loaded with dead bodies. Thousands of people--Americans. Casualties of a nuclear explosion back East. They were being brought by rail to the Badlands (a desert in southwestern South Dakota--J.T.) to be buried in a new national cemetery there," Frank Running Elk reported, "He didn't say where the explosion was, just that it happens in the East. You know the spot he means, Joe."

(Editor's Comment: Sure do. The ridge 10 miles (16 miles) north of Oglala, S.D.
I hope Frank finds out more at Mato Tipi next week.)

"What's curious about the first three precognitive dreams is that they all come from the same area about 40 miles (64 kilometers) south of Atlanta," UFO Roundup editor Joseph Trainor added. "That is right on the 33rd Parallel or the 33rd degree of latitude. The 33rd degree is also the highest degree in Freemasonry. There are still two more days in July 2005 with the numerology of that Masonic symbol 777. The first of these is Saturday, July 16, 2005. This is also the 60th anniversary of the first atomic bomb explosion at Alamogordo, New Mexico."

"The date July 16 has occult significance. Freemasonry is derived from the solar religion of ancient Egypt. And July 16 was the ancient Egyptian New Year. It was the day the star Sirius--'that blazing star' of Masonry--rises above the horizon. That event coincided with the rising of the Nile. Strangely, Egypt of the Pharoahs referred to Sirius as 'a more distant sun' or 'the second sun,' which, of course, it is. And when 'Oppie's gadget,' the atomic bomb built by physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, went off on July 16, 1945, it was as if a second green sun had risen over the Jornada del Muerto desert," he added, "It's also very interesting that the new Harry Potter book will make its debut on the Masonic holy day of July 16."

"However, Atlanta isn't the only possible target of a terrorist nuclear strike. Other major American cities located on or near the 33rd degree of latitude include-- going from west to east--San Diego, California; Phoenix, Arizona; Dallas, Texas; and Birmingham, Alabama. Hopefully, these dreams were just nightmares and not precog dreams. But I'll be awfully glad when we get to August." (Many thanks to Tom and Vicky Hinton, Rev. Alfred Styles and Frank Running Elk for passing on these reports.)"

No one in the Department of Energy takes these threats seriously. The amount of maintenance it takes to keep these bombs in working order is sunstantial. It also very unlikely that they could maintain these weapons without being discovered.

While I agree that the borders should be closed for security reasons, many believe this entire "Sky is Falling" hypothesis is simply about pushing an agenda to close the borders. Creating boogey-man stories is an age-old trick to get create panic to get what you want.

The real fear of nuclear attack on U.S. soil is actually water-borne. A tanker on a ship or a trawler which has allowed the terrorists to maintain the device until detonation. Nuclear terrorism probably is inevitable, but not as descibed by Farah.

Nukes require lots of maintenance on a regular basis. The tritium component has a half-life of 10-12 years. It decays into helium and damages the bomb components. Tritium can only be made in a reactor in a very controlled reaction.

Suitcase nukes are even more difficult to work on and require more maintenance. If AQ gets one of those 1980's suitcase nukes, it's very likely to just fizzle and make some Russians very rich.

Don't get too excited about this:

THE HIROSHIMIC IMPOSTURE
Behind The Lines - Dr. Jack Wheeler
Thursday, July 14, 2005
So many of you have asked me about an alleged Al Qaeda plan called “American Hiroshima” – the multiple detonation of nukes smuggled in to the US – that I must respond, even though some very good friends of mine for whom I have high regard have been taken in by the fellow who’s making the claim.

That would be Paul L. Williams, who has been peddling this stuff for a long time. The funniest example is Williams’ claim that “documents captured in Afghanistan show that Al Qaeda had plans to assemble nuclear weapons with fissile material purchased on the black market.” A nuclear scientist friend of mine with all the requisite Pentagon security clearances could not stop laughing when I discussed this with him.

“I’ve seen those documents,” he told me, “and believe it or not, they are copied from an article in a science humor magazine called The Journal of Irreproducible Results. It was entitled “How to Build an Atom Bomb,” and these Al Qaeda-Taliban idiots didn’t know it was a put-on. It’s full of physics jargon and seems impressive – but when the article instructs you to make the shock wave focusing lens out of Playdough, you’ve got to be a retard not to get the gag. Living in an Afghan cave can do that to you.”
