Faith hate crimes have soared by 600% in London since the July 7 bombings.
Alarming figures from Scotland Yard showed that there were 269 such attacks compared to just 40 in the same three-and-a-half-week period in 2004.
In the three days following the London bombings, there were 68 religious hate crimes in the capital; there where none in the same period 12 months earlier.
The attacks included verbal and physical assaults and damage to property including mosques.
Scotland Yard Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur said: "There is no doubt that incidents impacting on the Muslim community have increased."
He said most of the incidents were low-level abuse or minor assaults but they had a great "emotional impact" on communities.
And he warned: "It can lead to these communities completely retreating and not engaging at a time when we want their engagement and support."
The figures came as Home Office Minister Hazel Blears began a tour of Muslim communities to discussing ways of improving relations with them.
Speaking in Oldham, Lancashire, she said that contrary to suggestions British Transport Police chief constable Ian Johnston, racial profiling was not the way to find suspects.
The reaction to that would be very difficult to predict. It would likely lead to massive round up and deportation of non-citizens from Muslim countries. What are we waiting for? We should be started on this already.
No argument from me on that one. We should start with the student visas and work down.
"The reaction to that would be very difficult to predict."
Here I'm going to have to disagree. Any muzzie that wants to keep on sucking oxygen after such an attack better head for the tall grass. I don't think the police would be able to protect them.
This is not a criminal prosecution but an indication of the way things are going. And this was before the new "hate law" came into force.
"Co-op bank bars Christian group"
The Co-operative Bank has asked an evangelical Christian group to close its account because of its anti-homosexual views.
The bank said the opinions of Christian Voice were incompatible with its support for diversity.
Christian Voice said the bank, based in Manchester, was discriminating against it on religious grounds.
It is now waiting for other religious groups with similar opinions to be asked to close accounts, it added.
Christian Voice has held an account with the Co-operative Bank for about three years.
Most likey they were something like "Get AWAY from me, you Muslim creep!"
And I would strongly suspect that tens of thousands of "British" Muslims are under orders to look for any possible excuse to report a 'hate crime' to British authorities. Or even to engage in provocative behavior so as to elicit a response that they can whine 'hate crime' about. And the media just acts as their useful idiot by reporting the stats without comment, without analysis, without any skepticism (which may in itself constitute a horrid 'hate crime').
"Yep, last month 59 people died as a result of religious hate crimes. Perpetrated by Muslims."
Yes, but there may have really been only two Muslim- perpetrated hate crimes---or eight, if we count each bomb and attempted bombing separately. But there were all of 269 religious hate crimes, mostly against Muslims. These included things like people saying something hateful. So by this mathematics, the key problem is crimes against Moslems.that I suppose, is what the liberals want to focus on.
Not sure of the current figure but at lease 56 dead not 52. Can't see how polybius is guilty of a "rant"
They are all victims of muslim "hate crimes" even is a few of the victims were muslims. They are not following islam correctly according to the bombers (and there false prophet Mohammed) hence they hate them and kill them.
The non muslim kill rate is still zero, they were killed by muslims. Non muslims have not killed any muslims in London.
All 56 victims of hate crime by muslims.
"Actually, amongst the bombing victims at least 3 Muslims."
This builds up your sympathy for Muslims?
"He said most of the incidents were low-level abuse or minor assaults but they had a great "emotional impact" on communities."
Well, you know, these people are sensitive. Some of them have even been threatening to leave Britain. I'll bet that has the British people quaking in their boots.
Muslims: 52 kills
Non-Muslims: Zero kills."
Actually, amongst the bombing victims at least 3 Muslims. (But don't let your ignorance get in the way of having a good rant)
The only ignorance here is that you do not seem to understand that a "kill" is a military term that signifies the deliberate act of killing and not the passive act of dying.
Were those three bomb victim Muslims killed by non-Muslims?
Then the Kill Tally still stands at:
Muslims: 52 kills
Non-Muslims: Zero kills.
Whether or not the Muslims scored kills on their own fellow Muslims does not change the Kill Tally.
tour of Muslim communities to discussing ways of improving relations with them
Gee, if they were assimilated into the culture of the country there wouldn't be any problem regarding 'relations with them' [Muslime 'communities' that is]
Muslims blow up innocent commuters--Not a hate crime.
Muslims complain to police about being 'looked at funny' while wearing coats and carring packages--hate crime.
"Muslims: 52 kills
Non-Muslims: Zero kills."
Read it again. It means that Muslims KILLED 52 people (regardless of the victims' religion). Of the teerrrrribbble 'hate crimes' cited in this article, ZERO resulted in death (or even major injury).
YOU are the ignorant one. Can't even read.
Wake the f**k up. Let's say a...oh purple spotted male breaks into your friends house and kills the family. Wouldn't you like to know that the perp was purple?
A'holes and their PC will definetly get alot of people killed...that includes those with purple spots.
Thank you! Let them eat sand.
I don't reacall the person, but someone was recently prosecuted for hate speach after pointing out some factual home truths about homosexuality. I believe the "accused" questioned that it was a genetic trait and stated that it was lifestyle choice. He certainly was not inciting violence against gays, he was merely stating his opinion that it was a poor, insanitary, and health threatening choice.
