Tancredo: Justice differs for immigrants

HANAHAN, S.C. - Republican Rep. Tom Tancredo told law enforcement officers that illegal immigrants are held to lower standards by the justice system than Americans.
"An illegal alien actually has a different system of justice here," he said Tuesday in a speech to about 30 officers. "If you're here illegally, you can get a pass."
Tancredo, from Colorado, has come under fire recently from some Hispanic groups for his calls for tougher immigration enforcement and a proposal to tax some of the money immigrants send outside U.S. borders.
Hispanic and Islamic groups called for his resignation in a Denver protest recently, citing Tancredo's suggestion to target Islamic holy sites if terrorists launch a nuclear attack on the United States.
In his speech, he urged the police officers to force political candidates from either party to clearly state positions on immigration laws.
Tancredo's stance on immigration has put him at loggerheads with the Bush administration and its support of an amnesty for undocumented immigrants from Mexico. Tancredo calls amnesty "a rotten idea" that would turn the flow of illegal immigrants into a "tidal wave."
"I support him in many ways," Tancredo said of the president. "On this, I think he is wrong."
Tancredo says he has no presidential aspirations of his own.
"I'm too short, I'm too fat, I'm too bald to be the president of the United States," he said.

Amen, though. We've been BS'd for so long by other politicians. It's a breath of fresh air to hear one speak truth and common sense.

If the ICE and the ATF swapped agents and law enforcement philosphies, every illegal alien in America would be jailed, deported or shot in one month.
(I would just like a list of the laws which "really count" that I have to obey, and a list of the laws I can ignore, like the illegal aliens can.)
This legal double standard is a major step on the road to third world Banana Republic status.

U.S. Constitution Article 4 Section 4:"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,
and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"
Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]
1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.

Tancredo just needs to remember that HE is the enemy to the MSM. Everything he now says, will be cut, chopped, minced, and re-pasted back together to cause maximum damage and make him seem a loon.
I'm still kinda on the fence about him though. Too many parallels to Buchannan. And Buchannan has proven himself to be a fool more than once.

I heard Tancredo on talk radio yesterday. Can't remember the show. He was awesome. Telling about all the inside politics that go on. How so many reps really think like he does and support him but don't have any cajones at all to vote with him. He is a true patriot.

It's too bad too. Yesterday he pointed out that of the 5 million illegals that got through last year some 40,000 of them were from "countries of concern". In other words we do not have a clue how many terrorists are already here and plotting who knows what. We need a fence and need it now!!

It says a LOT about this administration, and the two parties more generally, that our southern border is being ignored.
To: Travis McGee
Tancredo is right about a separate justice system. First, if you are illegal and you are arrested away from border states (and admittedly, I don't know what they do in border states) INS will not come and get you. They tell the local law enforcement they don't have time, money, resources etc.
If you are arrested and a judge grants bond, you're gone. My sheriff requires a cash bond from all hispanics because the majority of them abscond and are never heard from again. We're a rural county (20,000 population) and he has three filing cabinets full of warrants that will never be served because the hispanic name on the warrant can't be found. He reasons that if the judge gives them bond he can at least require it to be a cash bond so some penalty is paid for the crime.
What amazes me more than anything, though, is how INS just tells them law enforcement to turn these illegals loose.

I have been advocating an Israeli type fence, complete with sensors, a perimeter road cameras, barbed wire and inner fence helicopters and more manpower, for almost a year. While it may sound crazy when you analyze the cost, between 6-8 billion, it's cost effective.
If built Israeli style it will keep 90-95% of the illegals out, actually it is cost effective is you consider all the by-products of the Mexicon invasion.

Tancredo is absolutely right. Just go to traffic court and see how an illegal skips and the American is fined up the hilt. They know they won't collect on the illegals ticket and will on the Americans. Guess who gets the larger fine?
How do I know....personal experience....it was stunning!

When you have citizens being prosecuted while illegals are not being prosecuted for the same crimes, eventually you'll have a violent revolution.
There is no reason for American citizens to obey the law when illegals may break it with impunity.
Lawlessness begets lawlessness.

This needs repeated over and over again! In fact, we need to all send a letter to our members of the House and the Senate and ask them this question. Wonder if that would get their attention if they got a few million letters, all asking the same question?

I think you're probably right. How dare the people these jerks "represent" actually expect to be listened to, huh?
Maybe I should shred the doosy of a letter I got yesterday from my traitorous U.S. representative, explaining why it was necessary for "national security" for him to vote for CAFTA. I should shred it and send it back to him, telling him that's the respect I have for him and his vote! :)

Exactly!
We send people to DC to represent us and it's hightime that those we send get back to doing just that.
The amount of money that the illegal situation is costing this country should be reason enough to correct the problem, but the National Security aspect of the situation SHOULD trump all!!!
Tancredo seems to have the fight in him and the fortitude to press on with the issue as well.
