No Indictment for Teen Accused in Fatal Shooting
Police say a Jackson teenager who killed his mother's live-in boyfriend last year acted in self defense.
A grand jury has decided not to indict 17-year-old Michael Smith, who was accused of killing 47-year-old Robert Day August 3rd, 2004. Police say day allegedly shot the boy's mother, 35-year-old Margaret Smith, in the head before the 17-year-old pulled a gun on Day. The shootings occurred in a field, blocks from the couple's home. Margaret smith died the next day at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Day was pronounced dead at the scene.
Prayers for that poor kid who saw his mom murdered!

Why had the grand jury taken so much time to decide? Is such lengthy delays common?
Don't fret son. You did the right thing. Your mother, however, set a lousy example by living with a piece of garbage.
