Poll Says GOP Wins in '08
NewsMax ^ | 8/4/05 | Limbacher

Both John McCain and Rudy Giuliani would whip Hillary Clinton or John Kerry in a 2008 presidential race, a new Gallup Poll reveals.

The two Republicans each received 50 percent of the vote in a trial match-up with Sen. Clinton, who received 45 percent.

Sen. McCain and former New York City Mayor Giuliani did even better when matched up with Sen. Kerry, pulling in 54 percent of the vote compared to Kerry’s 41 percent.

The survey showed that McCain and Giuliani both enjoy strong support among independent swing voters, who gave the two Republicans at least 50 percent of their votes, while Clinton attracted 41 percent and Kerry just 38 percent.

I hope it DOES NOT become a McCain vs Clinton Presidental race.
That kind of match up is like deciding which foot to hack off.

Are you joking?

If Conservatives want to lose the 2008 and beyond elections, the above team ought to do it. Condi is no vice presidential material.

"How did real conservatives do in the poll?"

THAT'S the real question. McCain and Guiliana are both RINOs who don't appeal to true conservatives, but do appeal to the so-called "independent" voters who think politicians will be more civil and the country will run better if the President is more compromising (i.e., squishy) on issues. Makes me crazy.

Before all the superior conservatives start dismissing Giuliani, read "Prince of The City". He turned New York city around 180 degrees, when everyone was declaring New York as unsalvageable. He did it mostly by out smarting the public sector unions, i.e. teacher's union, etc. To dismiss him outright is foolishness of the highest order.

He's smarter and better prepared than his enemies. This guy is no chump.

So the main complaint is he's pro-abortion? Please, Reagan was anti-abortion and 20 years later, nothings changed.

I don't dismiss Giuliani, but Condi/Rove would be much more exciting. Can you imagine the tin hat crap the democrats will "foil" their campaign with? And the racist slurs will give us 100% of the black vote.

Blacks are so used to the slurs (Ala Chris Rock, etc) That I think having condi may push the black vote as high as 11%.

We have a long ways to go until '08. Look at the ammo the Democrats have handed us already. It's hard to imagine just how many load fleet supply ships we'll have by '08.

Democrats will put clowns on the stage, All we have to do is put people up that they fear.

'08' beginning of the 2nd half of the 16 year era of Conservative Rule in America.

Scenario: Hollywood eventually turns on the Mullahs and 'Freedom Fighters' they so dearly love today.

In a desperate gambit to maintain economic relevance, the MSM will be forced to market Mom's, Apple pie and Ol' Glory.

The tide begins to turn. This will carry even into the World Media as the Reuters and al jazira's of the world continue to wither. Each terrorist attack becomes another nail in the coffin of extremism.

Democracy take root, begins to flourish in the M.E.

The Left's handwringing and gloom-mongering will serve only to provide a bit of pathos for subplots in a newly inspired genre of Films that espouse such concepts as morality, patriotism, and positivity.

All of this will force a steady, relentless division of the current bastions and strongholds of Liberalism, relegating the hard Leftists to increasingly smaller, fractured, special interest groups. -Each crying out for their own individual needs. Each more annoying, intolerable and irrelevant than the next, and ALL of them, completely without voice.

In 2010, people will look back at the Democratic Party of today, with the sort of bemusement with which we regard 70's hair and bad Disco.

You heard it here first Folks ;>

I actually find it a bit disconcerting that Hillary manages 45%, even in such a meaningless early poll.

If Iraq is a mess, and the economy isn't clearly strong enough to counter Dem/media spin, then people will be much more willing to buy into Hillary's phony-moderate show.

If the democrats run with someone other than a Northeastern liberal, the GOP is in trouble.

Hillary! and Kerry will bring out the anti-Clinton or anti-Kerry votes. Anyone can beat these two.

However if the democrats run with someone like Bill Richardson, and the GOP runs with a RINO, the GOP voters will stay home.

McCain would be torn apart because of the Keating scandal. Guliani would be torn apart because of his marital nonsense.

It will worry libs but all they think they have to do is convince Mc Cain that he must run with Hillary. They see him as a strong military man who will convince Republicans to vote the Hillary/McCain or the McCain/Hillary ticket. They can't see that he is not well liked by Republicans. Can't you just hear the media now if he does that? They will wet themselves with joy on national TV.
