Your State Emergency Management Association can let you know where to purchase them, if nor contact your State Representative and he,she should also know where to obtain such. If you live near a Nuclear Power Generating Station they too will know where you may find them. For the ones who seem to think things such as prepareness is a joke they will be in need and still not know what they are used for in reference to blocking the Iodine from entering the body when exposed to a possible nuclear attack. but I guess it makes them inferior to people such as your self, one who is thinking outside the circle of normal unprepared people. I hope this helps you resolve your issue.

I'll take some of that spam if you're willing to let it go for a series of books on preparation of animal pelts and home dentistry.

ROTFLMAO! I'll have to pass, I'm already a dentist (really!).

How about a case of swiss army knives and some tin foil?

I like Cialis' new commercial, "We're so sure you'll like Cialis that if you don't, we'll pay for a sample of the ED drug of your choice. That's the Cialis challenge."

Big deal. You can get a sample of any of those drugs at no cost anyway.

I still have some duct tape.

Is that in response to the anti-radiation question or the later ED question?

Survival Kit contents check. In them you will find: one 45 caliber automatic, two boxes of ammunition, four days concentrated emergency rations, one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills, one miniature combination Rooshan phrase book and Bible, one hundred dollars in rubles, one hundred dollars in gold, nine packs of chewing gum, one issue of prophylactics, three lipsticks, three pair of nylon stockings -- shoot, a fellah could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff....

"I'll trade you some spam and an only slightly-used y2k bunker."

When I walked to school in the early 60s, I passed a house that had an atomic bomb shelter in the backyard. It was eerie to look at - a metal cylinder about 20 -25 feet in diameter, half buried, with an air vent protruding from the top. I've often wondered if it's still there, and whether it was considered a "feature" or a "get-that-thing-outta-here" when the house was sold.

Just make sure they don't call me at work and say "Well, I had a hot date, and I took two, just to make sure."

They'll become a legend in the call center, along with several other callers.

Iodine can also be applied to belly skin for system uptake: research yourself concentrations and amounts, 2*~3-5 cc/day as I recall from Y2K play. Betadyne or even vet. iodine could work when K-I tabs are beyond reach. Topical iodine can cause allergic reations.

Consult your well researched physician as I am only preparing for the worst. A dead serious first aid kit/pack is critical.

Know that thourgh washing *3 with proper disposal of exposed hair and clothing is critical. Latez gloves anyone? I've measured my little "Sun" shower and you must have not less than 10 gal. each for decontamination bathing/person. Get lots of HD trashbags and a few tarps.

PLEASE: Store >100 gal. of water/person with a month's + canned food variety with the means of on-your-own cooking AND have the mocked plastic sheeting and tape to seal doors and windows blown out or not. Research some of the many excellent FR threads on topic. P-95 & N-100 face masks and even cheap eye gogles hwlp keep your insides clean to minimize decontam.

Our mortal enemies are waging total war with the help of our own fools and traitors. China shall benefit from an nuke attack on us even if they did not provide tech. assistance on the warheads. Chicoms need oil which our robust economy consumes.

This war is ultimately about who controls the world's oil economy which pays for the submission of Western Civilization. 3 times now a Chicom general has threatened to nuke us if we intervene protecting Tiawan and China will benefit if our economy is devastated.

Heh. You'll never be a Real Estate agent.

It's a "wine cellar" now. ;-)

True. I guess it's pretty obvious that few if any people would want an atomic bomb shelter sticking up in their backyard. It doesn't make a very good setting for the barbecue. There's always a hard core of survivalists who might want such a shelter, but I don't think many of them are living in Seattle's Wedgwood neighborhood.

I have a bunch of iodine tabs that I used to treat water on backpacking trips. I assume they would serve the purpose, and you can get them at the local sporting goods vendor.
