Posted on 08/10/2005 2:55:28 PM PDT by kristinn
A pro-troops/pro-Bush rally will be held this Saturday in Crawford, Texas by Killeen radio station KLFX 107.3 FM and sister station KWTX 1230 AM.
The rally will begin at noon and will be held at a parking lot next to the Crawford Bank. Free hamburgers and sodas will be given away until supplies are exhausted.
A spokesman for KLFX said that those who are calling this an anti-Cindy Sheehan rally are wrong. The station wanted to have an event to offer a means for the public to show their support for the troops serving at nearby Fort Hood and their commander-in-chief in contrast to the antiwar/anti-Bush protesters descending on Crawford this week.
The station says the free cookout is meant to tweak the leftist 'hunger-strikers' in Crawford, not make fun of Cindy Sheehan.
Have fun, play safe. The lefties are in a tizzy over this.
I am glad they chose to make it a pro-troops, pro-Bush rally, rather than an anti-Sheehan rally, like was proposed.
I want to go so bad but it appears I have other plans and can't get out of them. But it sure does sounds fun!
Now watch all the press coverage from the MSM I'm sure it will dwarf the coverage of the left wing loons. On another topic, I hope we return to the moon soon and get our fill of green cheese.
Have the lefty protestors been hauled away yet? if not, can someone videotape when they do?
I hope they do march down to that commie pinko sheehan and give her a piece of their mind.
We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared, so we may always be free.
God Bless Our Troops
Anybody have a way to ping Texas FReepers, especially those in the area?
Also, maybe post something about this thread to the local Texas board: http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/profiles?location=91
Anymouse posted a notice to the Texas board referencing the related thread referenced just below. I think that it needs to be emphasized that the rally is apparently a pro-troops pro-Bush, but NOT an anti-Cindy Sheehan protest as the first thread (below) stated.
Here is that related thread, but apparently was partially based on the honest mistake of erroneously characterizing the rally as anti-Sheehan: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1460736/posts
You know how easy it is to get lost in Crawford. They probably won't be able to find the bank.
Maybe this map will help.
I'll be there for this one!
Gracey--please ping others on our HOT chapter list.
They may not want an anti-Cindy rally but it will be hard not to mention her.
At least it needs to be pointed out that Cindy ALREADY met with the POTUS. Fox news again reported that she just wants to meet with him. Hello Fox, she already has!
Thanks for the ping! Hope this goes well. I wish I could be there, but I live all the way across the state from Crawford--plus I have to work, darn it! I will be there in spirit! I'll bet the pro-Bush group will be much larger than the anti-Bush nutjobs! Hope they have fun and yell loud!
Plus PETA will be so upset
Just saw Cindy's comments in another thread. Guess she is anti Jew also. Are we sure we can't make this freep about her???? :D
Any "temp" agencies in the immediate vicinity? I'm unable to make it, being in NJ and all, but I would pay somebody $8.00/hr for 8 hours that day to be there as my surrogate.
Texas Ping for Crawford Rally Saturday 8/13 High Noon!
I will be in the hospital, but wish I could go. This has been getting mention by DUmmies, with the usual mocking. If a big enough crowd shows up they will be hard pressed to ignore it......but i am betting th MSM will try to do so in any case
Way to go.
Wish I could fly down there to participate.
Thanks for ping DD!
Hey LS! Check this out!
From another link it sounds like this Sheehan lady has been sipping the kool aid. I'll be at my rock pile Saturday, but if there's any way at all I can skip out, I'll be there.
BTW, what ever became of MsAntifeminazi? There was a Freep at Baylor University two or three years ago and I think she was able to contact the campus Young Republicans for a more organized protest.
Thanks for the ping.
Baylor U. (Waco) graduation ceremony starts at 10 am Sat. Hopefully the speeches will be brief.
Go get 'em! :-)
And a bump!
Hey, this is in your neck of the woods, Squantos. :-) Crawford's within an hour of everything in Texas, right?
ping! Thought you might be interested. :o)
Haven't seen you in awhile, hope all is well.
How long a drive is it from Waco?
Count me in!
About 20 minutes
I just returned from a trip to Fort Hood. On the way to the airport this morning I heard all about this Bar-B-Que/Rally. The morning show hosts were bragging about the Bush Burgers (insert your own joke here). They were getting dozens of supporting calls. One woman called the secretary at her office to complain but was too chicken to speak to them on the air. Anyway, sounds like they're gonna have a boat-load of fun. Wish I could have stayed through the weekend.
Yall want to go to Crawford this Sat.?
yes, the rally is pro troops and pro Bush and I think it should be. But I still think some Freepers need to get out there at some point on do a protesting of Sheehan right next to where she is at.
I tried to look up the YR online. Their website SUCKS! Dead links and poor layout. And I'm a freakin member! LOL
If I got down to Crawford this Sat it wouldn't be till 2pm or so cause i got plans going on before that. So, i doubt it will be worth it to drive down that late, but if i could i would cause I live in Dallas and I want to be there!
It's a long ways for me but my mom lives in Waco and I haven't seen her lately. Thinking about it.
Thank God. I hope the rally is full of people and loud as possible!
Don't know for certain if we will be able to make it but we'll darn sure try!!
That doesn't sound encouraging. I suppose the summer semesters are probably not a good time to catch most of the stoonts there, eh? Other ways to try to contact some/any of 'em as a group?
Go on! Take yer Mama! You'll both be glad you went. :-)
If you knew my momma you might think differently. I took her to a "he's my president" protest rally in 2000. I was scared she was going to get my butt kicked!.
