SUNRISE -- Police seized 2 ounces of marijuana at the home of Anthony Diotaiuto after shooting him 10 times, according to information on the drug raid released Tuesday.

Also Tuesday, while many friends and relatives of the 23-year-old bartender and student mourned him at a Davie funeral home, others appeared at a Sunrise City Commission meeting to demand an explanation for the fatal raid

"Do 2 ounces of marijuana constitute a death warrant?" asked Sunrise resident William de Larm, a friend of Diotaiuto's.

Well, considering he was a drug dealer felon, yep he gave up his rights.

I'm sorry you've been brainwashed, but a free man can't "give up" his rights. They are handed down from God as declared in the 2nd Amendment. Especially silly is your argument that possession of a naturally occuring plant somehow causes you to lose the right to protect your life.

they sent the swat team into the house solely becasue he had a conceal carry permit

Definitely can't have these 2nd Amendment whackos running around. They might actually *gasp* try to defend themselves.

It's many a year for me too. I have no idea what the drug laws are these days or where they draw the line between and posession becomes a felony. With that said, 2oz's a dealer, I doubt it. He certainly didn't deserve to die.

2 oz of pot, bags and postage scales? It does sound like he was dealing a bit, but not exactly big time. Hardly seems to justify a no-knock shoot first and ask questions later type of raid, though.

Whether it was a justified shooting is another issue. I happen to think cops on a felony bust have a right to shoot in self defense. I think the law supports me on this.

You can get two ounces for $120. You can also get two ounces for $1200.

Pathetic little bootlicker. If you had an original thought in your head you might be amusing.

Run away newbie.

"God forbid we give sworn police officers the benefit of the doubt."

Not any longer. To many abuses in the name of the WOD.

God forbid we give sworn police officers the benefit of the doubt. To you the whole lot of them must be corrupt.

God forbid we give citizens the benefit of the doubt over government officials. BTW I never implied "the whole lot of them must be corrupt." You invented that.

You got to be kidding.

(The police said there was a loaded gun in the house but they carry guns to plant as a matter of course so do not believe that either.)

No they said he armed himself with a handgun, big difference.

As for the planting guns shit,

Well that doesn't deserve an answer. What an idiotic comment.

Well, he was severely violating his CCW conditions.

CCW doesn't even apply when you're in your home.

The Police identified themselves and the perp grabbed a gun.

So thats the story here? Sheesh, its like arguing with little children. Its like saying "Al Capone got sent to jail for a litte tax evasion".

You obviously have been smoking too much of something! Education is a terrible thing to waste and you sound like you need lots! A strong remedial course in civics might help you come into reality. Maybe....maybe not?

Yea, I guess it sounds that way if you ignore the 2 ounces of pot and the fact that they'd done a controlled drug buy from the house before getting a warrant.

I think the war on drugs is way out of control, but police need to be able to enforce the law, and a swat team doesn't look much like the local gang trying to shake you down.

It sounds like he ran from the police and grabbed his gun. That's a fatal mistake.

now, if i'm in the act of putting it down, is the cop ok to shoot me just because he sees that gun?

Yes. Well, not okay, but justified under current law enforcement climate.
