He started with a double on the first hole and eagled the last.

Mickelson has choked so many times in the majors, notwithstanding his lone Masters victory. We can almost be sure that Phil will fade away yet again before the tournament is over.

I think he started on number 10 today, so he eagled his 9th hole and double bogeyed his 10th.

If there was one golfer who I would have said had no chance of winning this week, it would have been Lefty. He has done nothing in the majors this year and seemed to be back to his old self, spraying the ball every which way. Now here he sits with the 36-hole lead and a certain Mr Woods has a lot of work to do just to make the cut! It's a crazy game.

I hope he wins so he can have more money to gamble with.

I hope he wins so he can have more money to gamble with. According to an article (in Golf Digest, earlier this year), Phil has given up gambling since the birth of his last child. During childbirth, he nearly lost both his wife and son.

Did you see his score card? He only had about six parsT today, so he's still playing pretty aggressively.
To: Lou L
Ah yes, but did he give up the women also?
I have no problem with the gambling. It's his money. At least he doesn't cheat at golf like a certain Cheat'n Fiji'n

Give up the women? I've never heard any such allegation against Phil.
I have no problem with his gambling either, but maybe the experience gave him an epiphany of sorts, and he realized there were more important things in life.

How - In a poker game? Assuming you don't actually know the story, Phil's wife Amy, had some complications during childbirth (a ruptured artery, perhaps?), and both the mother and child's lives were in grave danger.

Oh . . . my . . . GOD.
Since I don't know what a Mickelson or a Baltusrol is, perhaps you can sense the sarcasm. ;)
