*L* I tried to get some close-up shots, because I knew the words on those great shirts wouldn't show up in the crowd scenes. We all envied them their gitmo duds!

I had not seen that and after driving 10 hours to and from Crawford today - if there was any question in my mind why I went - this letter says it all.
One of my daughters held a poster thanking the troops because the Iraqis could vote and she had pictures of the inkstained fingers on the poster. She got so many comments on it and as we were standing on the road looking over at Cindy's shanty town - a young guy from there walked across the road to look closer at it. He told her that he couldn't understand it and wanted to look at the pictures. He kept saying then "ok I understand it now" several times over. My daughter (SO PROUD OF HER) just looked straight ahead and would not have dialogue with him. I wish he could/would have read this letter you have posted.

We missed the FReepers - couldn't find them so fell into a couple other groups of good people just like them. Someone said this was like being back in the 50's when everyone was regular Americans supporting their troops and country.

Will post a couple pictures later and much thanks to basil and the others who organized this and got me out and going even tho we missed you.

Approaching 1100 replies and OVER 30,000 page views! This thread is HOT (pun intended) and well it should be.

Thanks each and every one. Our troops will hear of and see this pictures and know that Americans here at home stand square with them.

"So...there were 250 at the KLIF gathering and another 150 at ours? GREAT, that's 400 altogether!"

Add the one hundred that Mike Gallagher brought down from Dallas Friday evening, and you've got 500!

Good discussion of the origin and current makeup of these radical groups. They are all of the same ilk and have but a single purpose: Derail President Bush's efforts in combating terrorism by making the Iraq war singularly unpopular through stunts like this. They are counting on the sympathy of Americans toward this woman who has lost a son to pressure the President/Congress into fleeing Iraq as soon as possible. From the article:

Now, it has another mission. Fenton has established a “war room” with CIP called The Iraq Policy Information Program (IPIP). Its main job is getting the anti-Bush foreign policy message out to the media and providing guests for talk shows. A featured speaker of the IPIP is former ambassador Joe Wilson, one of the Bush administration’s most vocal enemies. Like Moveon.org and Win Without War, the contact for the Iraq Policy Information Program is Fenton Communications.

I did a search on the article and came up with two FR threads, which I have not yet had time to peruse.

God bless you and everyone that was there...FR or otherwise...supporting our troops. The pics coming out on Fox are FANTASTIC! and the troops will see them and be encouraged over the swill that the antis have been spewing.

Again...God bless. We are on target, now is the time to fire for effect!

Will do so. Lot's of people living out the experience through FR and that is a great thing. The same thing helped us immensely at Klamath Falls in 2001!

You are so right about that. I think I read everything on FR about Klamath Falls. Thank you so much for that.

Thank you so much for driving 10 hours for this cause...

I just back from my granddaughter's birthday party...turned on Fox and saw hardly any coverage of the pro-troop groups..I knew Kasich wouldn't do it justice...

I am so proud of ya'll and envious as well! You didn't mention your daughter's age...is she young? What she did should make her proud and you have helped form a wonderful patriotic American!

The rally has wound down now. The last speaker at the podium was CNTXAN's 17 year old daughter! She spoke from the heart, having had a father who served. We need a lot more of that and God bless CNTXAN and his for raising her up in such a fashion.

Sorry, Jeff must have misunderstood me. My daughter did not talk at the rally but we were talking about the rally on the way home and about the sacrifices our troops make on a daily basis. We have 13 military spouses that work for us and all but one of them has been in Iraq in the last two years - the other went to Korea

Thanks to Jeff for relaying the updates and for everyone who attended. I know the soldiers and their families appreciate it very much.

Holding off start of rally for late arrivals

Like me. I got there about the time things started, but I was far from the last to arrive. That would perhaps be the 4 guys on motorcycles, who the police "had a word with", (which took two patrol cars to do) before "clearing them", to come over to our group.
