You missed a detail. Everything that isn't being paid for, is being destroyed or taken apart and removed. I understand that for personal reasons, ALL of the private homes are being destroyed. The only thing the Palestinians are getting for free is the land itself. And Israel is giving up the land because they cannot defend the lives of these settlers for the indefinite future.

Moving Jews to another part of Israel, with generous financial compensation for the move, isn't deportation.

yeah like the israelis would evict 1 million palis from Gaza, what will likely occur from this is all out war between palestinians and Israel
Israel will be probably forced to go back in, and this will set off a full scale war.
BTW Settlers have no business building settlements in Gaza, it has no religious significance
To: atlanta67
Religious significance is irrelevant. Gaza was taken in a war, and is therefore considered 'spoils', if I am not mistaken...JFK

if Israel tries to exercise its right to self defense.Israel will exercise its right to self defense. But the EU and the UN will indeed scream and scream again. I think Israel will find that it needs Bibi in spite of what happened at Hebron. I don't think anything like that will happen again with him. Course, I never thought I'd see Sharon doing anything like this.

Tell me this, then...does any Jew have a right to live? Anywhere? I do not know, but I do not think these people have been compensated for their losses nor do I think they have been given anywhere else to live. The socialists wanted them punished.

The only thing the Palestinians are getting for free is the land itself. Yes and it will turn into a wasteland again. The only ones that can make "the desert bloom" are the Jews (Israelies). That is God's convenant land and he gave it to His Chosen People and they are the only ones that can make it bloom. Under any other "ownership" it will be a desolate wasteland.

1. The courts in Israel are dominated by the left. They don't care for property rights.
2. The Gaza communities were built on public lands administered by Israel. Previously these lands were administered by Egypt.

This is beginning to sound more and more like the Book of Revelation, where the Jews will become hated by all nations.. we're well on our way!

I wonder what will happen when Gaza-based attacks on Israel begin in earnest? The Israelis will be on their side of the Wall.
The Palestinians will be on their side of the Wall.
The Israeli Air Force will then have an extremely target-rich enviornment in the skies over Gaza.

Did the "settlers" have legal ownership to that land? Did they purchase it from someone who had legal right to it, or did they take it? I would assume that if they had legal right to it, the courts would defend their rights to it regardless of what the Prime Minister says. This has little to do with property "rights" and everything to do with military considerations and more secure Israeli borders with a Wall between the Palestinians and the Israelis that the Minuteman Border Project could only dream of.
The settlers want to live wherever they want to live but they still expect the Israeli Army to defend them.
This reminds me of the residents of the coastal islands in South Carolina who refused public safety authority orders to leave their island homes before Hurricane Hugo hit. At the height of the storm, these same people were then begging the same Police to risk their lives to come rescue them from the storm surge that was ripping their houses apart.
In order to stop all the hyperbole about "Israel deporting Jews", maybe the Israeli Government should allow all the settlers who want to stay in Gaza to do so........As long as the settlers sign a document that acknowledges that their safety is now their own responsibility and no longer the responsibility of the Israeli Army.

Bibi's resignation was a political move so he could take over Likud. Most israelis are for the pullout and it will continue. The settlers were too much of a burden financially and logistically for the IDF.
