Good morning, everyone! Time for your daily Tony Snow Show ping.
Mornin' sl *woof*
This weekends moonbay award has to go to Howard Dean for this comment.
"It looks like today, and this could change, as of today it looks like women will be worse off in Iraq than they were when Saddam Hussein was president of Iraq."
Yeah, I just know the women of Iraq really miss those rape rooms and being thrown in a wood chipping machine feet first.
I am leaving you in the capable hands of our FReepers on the ping list, all other FReepers and Lurkers today as I will be away from technology for the rest of the day.
It will be a great show today!

Morning! :)
Hey tired did you see the thread by Irish GOP? Seems several had priests who spoke of Cindy Sheenan during the homily yesterday.
If I didn't like Dr. Demento so much, Dr. Dean could have a new nickname :)
And the weather in Mass. certainly added to his hot air. It has cooled down a lot this morning and we are getting some much needed rain.
PS If he's so pro-women, how much speaking time to women who support the free market do you think Dr. Dean would yield? (Yes, we know the real answer).
Daily Kos Parasites
Just when you think the Koz Kidz cant get any more disgusting: Framing Cindy Sheehan - we are making errors. (Hat tip: KrustyKoot.)
This is really going to turn your stomach.
We are making errors with references to Cindy Sheehan. What are we trying to accomplish with promoting her?
Emphasizing her sacrifice.
Emphasizing her stating truth to power.
Emphasizing her plain speaking, clear statements.
Relate her vigil over her dead son to universal archtypes of all vigils over dead children killed by dictatorial rulers throughout all history.
My suggestions below:
1. We should call her Mother Sheehan. We should never call her Cindy; I dont know her. Mother Sheehan is her title, and expresses her ceremonial status as a bereaved mother, calling forth over the dead body of her son. She is not a person now, she is a mother, which is not an expression of her individuality, but rather the expression of her eternal character: the mother, the bringer of life who has been wronged by state power.
2. We should use the word sacrifice. She has sacrificed the most precious thing a mother has, the life and promise of her child.
3. We should use the word useless frequently. The death of her son is a useless sacrifise, done for the vanity of the ruler.
4. We should not use the name of her son. Her son is a symbol of all sons who have been sacrificed for this useless and criminal war.
5. The term vigil should be used to describe the persons and their patient petition to the dictatorial ruler. It is a vigil over the body of the dead son, killed by the ruler for his own purposes.
6. The right will try to INDIVIDUALIZE and SPECIALIZE her complaint. We must try to make her cry the UNIVERSAL and ETERNAL cry of all mothers whose children have died at the whim of the tyrannical and dictatorial ruler, who has made the decision to push children to the front of the army for his own, useless purposes. We must seek to make this like funeral vigils over all time. This is not Mother Sheehans vigil, this is a vigil over the dead son, killed by the ruler for his own selfish reasons.
7. If there are any persons who are theatre professionals at the Sheenan vigil, they should arrange things much more theatrically.
8. If I was there, I would not let Mother Sheehan talk to the press, but I would have her talk only through a spokesperson. In particular, I would not allow her to argue with critics, and would allow no critics to approach her. Her dignity must be preserved. If lesser emissaries from the ruler arrive (C Rice, etc), these should not be allowed to speak to Mother Sheehan.
At least in part by stating clearly and publically the cause, and naming for what it is...Islamic-based terrorism.
But I suppose we'll have to settle for some sort of PC clap-trap.
Good morning all.
I am off to contend with unpacking :)
Cheers

I didn't read the entire thing.
What's the best way to remember 9/11?
A great big American flag and patriotic music from our military's choirs?
Annoying those who have other plans would just be an unanticipated bonus.
TTFN :)

He is a new priest who was ordained by JP2 himself.
I read it, Father was streaching a whole lot on that one!
Good Morning! 'Woof'
Well one way I know it should not be remembered is by some museum that blamed us for 911.
"Mother Sheehan" sounds like a demented abusive house-mother character in a movie about a private girls school.
Yes, the terms "useless" and Cindy Sheehan do belong together.
Condi Rice wouldn't give the likes of Cindy Sheehan the time of day.
Ye gads and liddle fishees, these people are truly sick.
The best way to remember 9-11: Show videos of the planes flying into the WTT and read the names of the victims. Then show the burning Pentagon and read the names of the victims. And lastly, show the burning field in Pennsylvania and read the names of those victims. End with a prayer and the signing of God Bless America.
