The lefties today are trying to deny that the antiwar people ever beat, spit on or otherwise mistreated returning Vietnam vets. I have seen several letters in the Austin un-American-Statesman containing the lie that veterans were not spit on or abused. An E-9 in my unit was knocked down an escalator and spit on at the SFO airport in 1969 by a bunch of hippie scum. He had some teeth broken in the incident.

This is not a tribute to the servicemen. It reminds me of when the libs used to put out shoes for victims of gun violence.

Michelle Mulkey, a spokeswoman for Sheehan, said protesters were still awake on Monday night when a truck dragging a pipe and chains drove over a portion of the area where the crosses were standing. The protesters are just angry that somebody destroyed their urinal area.

I am absolutely LOL. AT you not with you. That is the 2nd time you've used that line in this thread alone. Do you really think anyone is frightened of you? Do you feel like a tough guy? I'll bet if you head over to the nearest playground, there are a couple of elementary school girls you could scare.

...calls her site "Camp Casey," after her 24-year-old son, who was killed in combat in Iraq in April 2004.That's pretty disgusting.
A volunteer all the way; Casey enlisted, re-enlisted, volunteered for the mission that took his life and earned the Bronze Star trying to rescue fellow soldiers.
Casey Sheehan's actions in life are the antithesis of and a direct repudiation of Cindy Sheehan's views and actions!
It oughta be called "Camp Shitzon Grave."

Somebody want to explain to me what this bone-headed, stupid move accomplished? Say what you want about Sheehan, but when some asswipe starts effing with tributes to fallen servicemembers I draw the line....I agree, he should have run over the protesters instead--Especially anyone wearing a DU t-shirt

I'd like to know on what grounds the LEOs arrested this guy? The crosses are illegally placed on a public right of way.

As I said, get thee hence Troll... He's not a troll; been here as long as you have (look up profile). Besides, he's right to feel the way he does about running over the "tributes to fallen soldiers" although perhaps you're right too (about the intent of the pickup driver wanting to run over something)--especially since there were so many DUmmies protesting to choose from!

Were the crosses on the road or on the side?

Thank God for wild eyed Southern boys.
In another place and time, our cowboy would have been the guy to take that enemy bunker, alone, or with other wild eyed Southern boys. LOL!

" I have seen several letters in the Austin un-American-Statesman containing the lie that veterans were not spit on or abused" Or as we call it, the Aweful Un-American Mistatement, which is the first paper that I refused to subscribe to in all of the cities I have lived in, which is many.

Are you kidding me? You believe liberals are non-christian...where did you crawl out of...a hole from hell? I am not a liberal but am angered beyond belief that you would even post something like that. Cindy lost a son, her soldier died in vain. How would you feel. Perhaps you should get a heart and learn what christians are supposed to stand for. Shame on you, you immoral human being.
To: meandog
Those crosses were put there by people who want to shame everything those heroes died for. It wasn't a memorial to them, it was a field of shame. I believe that's why our cowboy snapped.

"...the liberals are going haywire over this and have lost their mind - calling the crosses 'gravemarkers' and the ditch a 'gravesite' or 'cemetary'. Last I checked, there were no remains buried under them."
They live in an alternate universe. It's sort of like the advertising business. If they imagine it, and think up a "branding" campaign for it, it is real.

I really feel we need to just come and say that this is not the action of someone that speaks for everyone. This is a tribute to the troops, i'm sorry, but it is. Look at the reasons why people are saying it isn't 1) some families don't want it 2) its used by groups that are against the war 3)not all of them are Christians. Ok, my church supports a crisis pregnancy center that works through another church to put up white crosses for the number of children who were aborted that year on the same sunday every year. Now, not all of those victims are Christians, nor do most of their families probably want their child represented (obviously not the same as using the names of fallen soldiers, but it is as close as it can be) and most of those families are obviously do not have a problem with abortion, so in principle, you could argue the same thing of the tributes to victims of abortion. Please know that I do not support Sheehan or anything that she is doing, but we need to be above the DU crowd, stop gasping at theories, wait to see how all this turns out, and say that we do not support any attempt to dishonor memories of fallen troops, no matter who is doing it. That's my opinion at least.

Whoa...You're way over the top. You're either A) simply not in control of your emotions, or B) A DU plant trying to play the DU stereotype of a conservative. Either way, your comments are way out of line.
